Prepare to buy your opponents a round of drink, because you will have something to amend for.

This deck aims to destroy the opponent's game and bury them under the card advantage you are going to pile up. The critical phase is at the beginning, where you aim to cast Marchesa on turn 3, then wipe the board and keep the crown for yourself (helped by Blind Obedience ).

The deck features 15 board-wipes and 5 exile-effect removals to keep the board under control.

You can win through exhaustion, or you can use Revel in Riches , Approach of the Second Sun and Torment of Hailfire , which rely on the aspects of the deck of, respectively, killing everything, drawing a lot and cause empty boards.

To outdraw your opponents you have cards like Alhammarret's Archive , Court of Ambition , Dead Man's Chest , and Syphon Mind .

Graveyard stealing is another path to victory through Grave Betrayal , Debtors' Knell and Ink-Eyes, Servant of Oni , the latter of which helps also with the constant re-enabling Marchesa's ETB effect (powered with many cards, like Athreos, Shroud-Veiled , Unhallowed Pact , Malakir Rebirth  , Supernatural Stamina , Demonic Vigor ).

Fated Return not only is recursion, but helps also in giving indestructible to Marchesa, allowing her to survive your board-wipes: this theme is strengthened by the ultimate of Elspeth, Knight-Errant and the use of Tajic, Blade of the Legion and Zurgo Helmsmasher .

In addition to the common ramp, you have some utility cards like Vedalken Orrery to cast a board-wipe (or threaten to do so) if someone attacks you when you are vulnerable, Sunbird's Invocation to double your spells per turn, Sorin Markov to inflict 30+ potential life loss in one coup, Faith's Reward to make any board-wipe a one-way board-wype, and Skyline Despot to transform Queen Marchesa in Khaleesi Marchesa.

Marchesa's Decree is in the deck because it is so flavorful, you cannot cut it. Yes, you _could _ put a tutor instead, or another Court instead. But you wouldn't prove the point as well.

p.s.: it's pronounced mar-keh-sah.
