Uril's Enchantresses EDH!

I love enchantments. I also love enchantresses. There is no better feeling than being rewarded for casting enchantments. So it was only natural that I'd end up making an enchantress themed EDH deck. Many commanders were in the running for the honor of being my enchantress' general: Sigarda, Trostani, Krond, but in the end the commander that I felt best suited for this task was Uril, the Miststalker , and thus my enchantress EDH deck was born.

Though this deck is enchantress themed, it functions first as a voltron deck. Filled to the brim with auras, removal, ramp, tutors, and some recursion - this deck strives to quickly cast an enchantress, place supporting enchantments on the board, then cast Uril and blanket him in auras until his might is so overwhelming he can swing one or two times and begin annihilating your opponents with his ferocity and monstrous power.

The deck is separated by function below. Auras are the largest presence in the deck and it is important that you use them wisely. Avoid emptying your hand on the turns Uril can swing. This deck requires you to be mindful of the board state and hands of your opponents and to utilize enchantments precisely and carefully. In other words don't over-commit to the board. Your biggest mistake would be to get greedy and cast two enchantress creatures and then see them get destroyed, killing your card drawing engine.

Your primary win condition is casting an aura that provide protection from creatures and attacking with an unblockable Uril. If your auras get targeted use tutors to try and set up the infinite combo in the deck Aggravated Assault + Bear Umbra and win in an explosion of unlimited combat steps. If board wipes are an issue prioritize searching for Gift of Immortality and Rancor which synergize extremely well together, and recast Rancor on Uril after he returns to play with Gift of Immortality and attack, attack, attack!

  • Argothian Enchantress - Likely the best enchantress in the deck. She comes down on turn two with Shroud, making her immune to all spot removal so that only global effects can remove her.
  • Kor Spiritdancer - This enchantress lets you draw cards for casting auras, of which there are 18 in the deck. She's also one of the two backup commanders if Uril gets too expensive to cast in the late game.
  • Setessan Champion - Not only is this amazing card an enchantress, it's also a threat. If Kor Spiritdancer or Sigarda are dispatched, Setessan Champion is an excellent backup commander.
  • Mesa Enchantress - The first white enchantress. Cast her and draw cards when you cast your enchantments.
  • Verduran Enchantress - The very first enchantress ever printed. A classic and still good after two decades of Magic! The foil 9th Edition printing is my personal favorite.
  • Enchantress's Presence - An enchantress enchantment? What a marvelous world we live in! Cast this when you already have an enchantress creature out and let the draw engine go into overdrive.
  • Eidolon of Blossoms - An enchantress in spirit form. Note that enchantments must enter the battlefield for the draw to trigger on this enchantment creature. A great addition to the enchantress suite.
  • Sram, Senior Edificer - An enchantress...in dwarf form? You're hired! No discrimination in this deck! He is basically a second Kor Spiritdancer. Ideally you'd cast him and sandbag the Spiritdancer until she's necessary.
  • Satyr Enchanter - I love that Wizards is embracing having male enchanters. This new friend for Sram fits perfectly in theme and lets us increase the enchantress count to 9!
  • Harmonize Four mana for 3 cards is so good!
  • Rishkar's Expertise Play when Uril has lots of auras on him, then cast any single other card in the deck for free!

That's it folks. Leave feedback if you'd like and thanks for reading.
