Commander / EDH Aggro Five Color Primer Sliver Tribal

That's kinda how I felt when I first played against a Sliver deck. I was stoked to play a White Knight for 2, thinking I was getting good value. Meanwhile, Scott is playing cards for 2 that are 6/6 haste, trample, lifelink, flying creatures that you can bounce back to your hand if they get targeted. Ugh, I hated slivers that night and realized that magic had come a long way in the years since I stopped playing.

Back in the day the mana was the only thing stopping slivers from being viable for a scrub like me to play them. Every thing had to be old school duels like Taiga and I certainly didn't have that kind of money in college just to play slivers. Plus I sold all of my brother and mine's good cards in ebay back in high school, so we were basically just left with cards that had no value... ie Wheel of Fortune and Demonic Tutor didn't sell on ebay so we played old school decks with them and of course the Royal Assassin + Icy Manipulator combo... or better yet Breeding Pit + Minion of Leshrac

Im getting off topic, nowadays slivers are viable for the everyday joe or dave or even bob...

Here are the steps:

  1. Pick from one of 4 commanders the cheapest is just 20 dollars and the best for tribal Sliver Overlord
  2. Create your budget mana base tri-lands Frontier Bivouac, tap lands Forsaken Sanctuary, and the basics Island...
  3. Put in all the signets and some green mana ramp Rakdos Signet + Farseek
  4. Find some cheap and fun card draw to keep the deck going ie Ponder and Game Plan
  5. Get whatever extra board wipes you got lying around or seem like a fun time ie Lavalanche and River's Rebuke
  6. Put in a bit of tribal synergy like Vanquisher's Banner and Door of Destinies
  7. And finally find your 30 or 40 favorite slivers... there are a few must have's but those are easy to find because they cost $1 rather than 10 cents, and then go make everyone cower at the power of the Sliver

It's so easy, cheap, and fun that its almost a shame you haven't done it already. You can definitely express yourself in sliver tribal, but not a lot...you can definitely tune the deck, but only if you want to spend lots and lots of money. Why bother with any of that! When slivers tell you what to do right on the card. Put a million of these little buggers in and play them all as fast as you can.

My favorite combo in the deck is to make your opponents creatures slivers with Amoeboid Changeling and then steal them with the Sliver Overlord. Oh baby that feels good and like you really got your head on straight.

Here's the deal if anyone makes a sliver tribal deck like this one and beats a person named Scott than you have done this deck right and you get a point. In fact you get a point for everytime Scott losing to your sliver tribal deck. The goal of this deck is to beat as many Scotts as possible, and then if you got time take out Insy. Insy of course is only worth half a point.
