Spinneret Sliver

Creature — Sliver

All Sliver creatures have reach. (They can block creatures with flying.)

I play tested the deck a little bit and I think you are running too many high cost slivers, and everything would feel nicer if you replaced them and the mana ramp spells to get to them. Just replace them with lower cost slivers and maybe a land or two. You really want bodies out when you drop that 4 or 5 drop sliver, otherwise they are kinda bad and give your opponent time to respond to the effect if he is your only dude. Alternatively for the more expensive ETB slivers you really want cheap guys you could maybe play on the same turn. If you make your land cheap you could toss in Sliver Overlord and still be cheaper overall, can swap that as your commander when you aren't playing 4 player games.

Things I think are worth adding in :

Plated Sliver , maybe Sidewinder Sliver , Shadow Sliver is just Shifting Sliver but one cheaper , Spinneret Sliver or just Winged Sliver, I think Taunting Sliver is just worse than Telekinetic Sliver besides the double blue cost although I understand the multiplayer use , and its kinda meme but good with your commander to maybe use this on your self when in need Screeching Sliver

So I would probably suggest changing Crypt Sliver for Sedge Sliver. Reason for this is because Crystalline Sliver and Crypt Sliver are a NonBo as you cant target the slivers with the ability.

I would also probably change Shadow Sliver for Shifting Sliver. Gives you the ability to block others, but you can't be blocked. Shadow Sliver is a double edged sword, as you also can't block.

You have the option of another mana Sliver in the form of Gemhide Sliver. Trust me, Mana is your most required asset. I would drop Virulent Sliver as, to be honest, I would not genuinely expect to win with poison counters. And if this was a win con I would be going hard on it, not just a 1 chance.

As the aim of your deck is to go wide, I would be tempted to go with Shared Animosity to pump your attack power.

You have Spiteful Sliver in there, why not include Blasphemous Act? with enough creatures, this in itself can kill off your opponents.

Heart Sliver replacing Reflex Sliver is a strict upgrade. Cheaper and still gives haste.

I would question the value of Spinneret Sliver when you already have 2 slivers giving you flying.

If you are going wide Horned Sliver could be an option, however may not be needed. I would be more inclined to go with a Synapse Sliver. Need to keep that grip full of more Slivers to power the Hive.

Now... onto the mana base...

I would strongly suggest getting more dual color lands which can come into play UNTAPPED. We are in a very intensive deck, and getting to that is super important. Chromatic Lantern could be super useful, and you may also wish to replace something with Morophon, the Boundless.

Whilst ABUR duals are super expesive, and to an extent Fetchlands too, Shocklands (Godless Shrine etc.) and Bondlands (Morphic Pool etc.) may be more accessible. You could look at the Filter lands too, or checks. I just think this could essentially speed up the deck exponentially

I will have another think about some other bits as well and will get back to you :)

DemMeowsephs I am going to remove some less useful slivers like Spinneret Sliver to trade out with other cards. Right now, Brood Sliver is not on the maybeboard, but I will consider changing it with Apex Devastator.

Hey, well done with your budget version of First.

Some budget upgrades to consider:

Arcane Signet is a staple mana rock in Commander and especially good when playing five colors. Profane Tutor is a budget tutor that has interaction with cascade because it's CMC is 0. Patriarch's Bidding is quick recovery from a board wipe by reanimating all Slivers in your graveyard. Vivien, Champion of the Wilds is another flash effect for Slivers and it has other uses too since playing lots of creatures.

What makes Farseek a good ramp spell is when it can search for a dual land that has two or more basic land types such as Cinder Glade. If all you have is a basic land that Farseek can search for then it's subpar ramp, worse than Rampant Growth. Tango lands: Cinder Glade, Canopy Vista, Prairie Stream, Sunken Hollow, Smoldering Marsh are budget and Farseek can search for one of them.

Shadow Sliver is a budget Shifting Sliver and since you have Shifting you don't also need Shadow. Not being able to block with Slivers can be a problem, not able to defend against opponents swingback. Spinneret Sliver is a just a worse effect then giving all Slivers flying.

Nice, I've been looking for a two color sliver deck, and I think this will work nicely. I would suggest more Spinneret Sliver, simply because you have a weakness to flying. I also love the use of Lead the Stampede great for pulling a lot more slivers late-game.

Durkle on G/W Sliver Pauper (New to format could use help)

Well let me be the first to say: Welcome to the wide world of pauper! Very fun format, it's basically exclusively what I play online these days. Never played GW slivers myself, but I've played against it more than my fair share of times. I definitely have a few ideas on how you could improve this list.

First and foremost, you'll want 3-4 copies of Journey to Nowhere in the main. Pauper is actually one of, if not the most, interactive format. There are still a few uninteractive decks floating around, but most of them have been banned out over the years, starting with Temporal Fissure, Cloudpost, Cloud of Faeries, Peregrine Drake, et cetera. Point is, if you run into a Gurmag Angler or a Myr Enforcer (which are both very common), you'll want a quick and easy way to get rid of it.

Another easy thing to change is replacing Commune with the Gods with Lead the Stampede. You're using commune only to find creatures, which... at that point, you may as well be playing Commune with Nature for one less mana. But no, Lead the Stampede is incredible. It will almost always net you at least 2 creatures, but best-case-scenario draws you 5 creatures for 3 mana.

Should probably play some dual lands for consistency. Shaving 2 of each basic and adding 4 Blossoming Sands should do the trick in and of itself.

Gemhide Sliver is a card that you honestly don't really need. One cool thing about sliver decks is that they're highly customizable, so if you want to play it, then by all means. Tapping your creatures to add mana just isn't something your deck is interested in doing, in general. You want to be attacking with your dudes every turn you can, so at that point I think the Gemhide is better suited as anything else. For example, I think Spinneret Sliver is a good one to consider for the main. Probably not as a 4-of, but flying creatures are very abundant. Specifically, Mulldrifter and Kor Skyfisher are everywhere, plus the occasional Glint Hawk or Vault Skirge. Plus, being a natural 2/2 for 2 mana is nice, as opposed to being a 1/1.

Beyond that stuff though, not sure what else I can offer. I don't know enough about playing the deck to talk about shaving some of the numbers. I will say though, MTGGoldfish is the best pauper decklist resource. Not a big fan of their content honestly, but it's a great site to see decklists. GW Slivers is an archetype you can find in the pauper metagame section, where you can find a bunch of different takes on the list, complete with sideboards.

But yeah. I hope any of that is useful, and good luck with the deck!

Awesome deck! The only weakness I saw while playtesting was that flyers got through pretty easy if Galerider Sliver wasn't out. Sideboarding a few more of those or maybe Spinneret Sliver would fix that, I think.

Interesting idea for a deck, but why the Spinneret Sliver?
