A werewolf-themed commander deck I'm making for my werewolf alter-ego.

Pulled Briarpack Alpha, Hanweir Watchkeep  Flip, Savage Summoning, Villagers of Estwald  Flip and Wild Defiance.

Briarpack Alpha is in flavour for the deck and is a perfectly reasonable card, but other than being a nice surprise blocker or combat trick on a body, it has little to recommend it.

Hanweir Watchkeep  Flip is one of the few genuinely dreadful werewolves in the original Innistrad block. While it can absorb a lot of damage as a blocker if it sits there and doesn' transform, there are better cards for this deck.

Savage Summoning provides an immunity to counterspells that this deck has never really needed or used, and isn't good enough to justify taking up space a better card could be put in.

Villagers of Estwald  Flip is a vanilla 2/3 that turns into a vanilla 4/6. It's perfectly playable, but again, there's not enough to justify a place in my deck that could go to other, better cards.

Wild Defiance is an extremely situational card. Most of the time, if one of my creatures is targetted by an instant or sorcery, it's going to end up dead (at which point the +3/+3 is meaningless) or under someone else's control (at which point the +3/+3 is actively counterproductive).

In their place, I added Blasphemous Act, Duskwatch Recruiter  Flip, Gravity Well, Hermit of the Natterknolls  Flip and Mage Slayer.

Blasphemous Act provides this deck with a much-needed boardwipe, which it's been missing since it was constructed.

Duskwatch Recruiter  Flip takes the 3-drop slot left open by Hanweir Watchkeep  Flip and adds a lot of functionality that card lacked.

Gravity Well controls the battlefield by forcing flyers out of the sky, whereupon my werewolves can block them.

Hermit of the Natterknolls  Flip provides a much more useful consequence to enemies casting spells than Wild Defiance did and gives the deck extra card draw.

Mage Slayer essentially allows me to turn my favourite werewolf into a better version of Thorn Elemental.
