A "budget" version of Azami that can hold its own in tougher pods. The maybeboard is a mix between cards that I'm actually considering and cards that one would include if not constrained by budget.

The game plan for this deck is rather simple. Play Azami, Lady of Scrolls as early as you can (often this means waiting until you can protect her, but this is game/pod dependent), draw a whole mess of cards, and then assemble one of the two combos: Mind Over Matter or Dramatic Reversal + Isochron Scepter . The latter is generally the more reliable of the two combos, and is usually the easier one to tutor for despite requiring two cards instead of one. Once you have the combo assembled and have drawn your whole deck, you have two choices for ending the game: drawing again with Laboratory Maniac in play, or looping Blue Sun's Zenith on each opponent in turn.

If you want to make this deck even more budget, Sensei's Divining Top and the Fetchlands are fairly inessential, but you may wish to cut Brainstorm if you are not playing with the fetches, as it's already a borderline card in this deck with the low(ish) count of shuffle effects (I know this opinion is controversial).

Previous iterations of this deck had a significantly higher wizard count, with various degrees of utility. I find that as long as most of your wizards are 2 cmc (3 is okay if the utility is very high), then the deck remains quite powerful, so that is an option if you wish to bring the budget down even further. However, if you go that route, do not cut any counterspells. I consider the counterspell density in this deck to be quite low in its present form, and even if I were to add Martyr of Frost, Voidmage Prodigy, and Patron Wizard back to the deck, I would make the cuts elsewhere.
