Maybeboard

A fairly basic locust god deck. Built on a semi-budget. Some cards are obviously not that great, but were added because I had them sitting around. A bunch of the cards were parts of the Izzet Commander Pre-con from a few years ago.

At its core this is a combo deck centered around The Locust God. Skullclamp is the other major combo piece. Using Ashnods alter and skull clamp you can make "infinite" mana (as long as you have cards to draw/Locust to sacrifice). Kindred Discover, Bident of Thassa, and Coastal Piracy let you draw cards based on your swarm of Locust ETB/attacking. Impact Tremors, Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind, Purphoros, God of the Forge, and Psychosis Crawler do damage when a Locust enters (or when you draw a card for Niv) letting you machine gun down all your opponents at the same time. These pieces all combine in different ways that provide a similar result. The Locust God + anything that lets you draw cards (make more Locust) + anything that does damage based on cards drawn/Locust ETB = Combo win.

Once of the nice things about this deck is that the combos are quite flexible. One note Kindred Discovery is not a "may" trigger, so if it starts you can not choose to stop it, you have to have Laboratory Maniac out or you WILL deck yourself.

I've found that the major weakness of the deck is how essential The Locust God is to make it run. No God, no combo, and no major way to win. Another weakness is how expensive The Locust God is to cast. Because of this I usually keep hands that have lots of mana and ramp in them. You are likely to draw into more card draw/wheel effects so I do not mind keeping "slow" hands. The one benefit The Locust God does have is that it skirts around commander tax. If he is removed it will almost always cost 6 to cast again. The exception is if someone exiles your graveyard while he is in it, in that case just have him move back into the command zone again. The deck features a bunch of counter spells meant to stop people from removing The Locust God or your other combo pieces. The current state of the deck does not have the best counters in it (because the best counters are hella expensive) but it makes due.

If you like drawing cards and having lots and lots of tokens swarm your opponents than check this deck out.

Looking for suggestions for card upgrades. As well as effect ratio analysis (too many counters? Too few board wipes? ect)
