Goal

Selesnya tokens EDH - It's all about the tokens; even the mana generation and board wipes produce tokens. 0______0

The Strategy

The general strategy is to flood the board with tokens and take out multiple opponents at once. This strategy works equally well in a 1 vs 1 game.

I'd say this deck is somewhere between Mid range and Aggro, I wouldn't consider it Aggro but it is definitely faster than Mid range; I'm usually the first to have creatures on the battlefield, first to attack and first to deal Commander damage.

Relic of Progenitus and Rest in Peace in my sideboard are there for when I play against decks that reanimate, scavenge, delve, flashback etc. I used to play frequently against a Karador, Ghost Chieftain deck and found them helpful. I'm not attached to my graveyard which has an upside and a downside. Upside is it means graveyard hate (including my own) doesn't hurt me, downside means that milling really hurts me. Bow of Nylea is awesome against milling if I need to put cards back into my library and this can be fetched with Enlightened Tutor if I draw it but these are only 2 cards out of an entire deck so it's a nice to have but I am not reliant on them. I do run 2 cards with Flashback but I have them primarily for their initial casting ability so I am not concerned about the Graveyard hate hurting my game in these 2 instances. If I do get the opportunity to Flashback though it's an added bonus.

This deck ramps well with cards such as Skyshroud Claim , Cultivate , Growth Spasm , Land Tax , and Kodama's Reach and produces an abundance of mana in a variety of ways using cards like Call of the Scions, Awakening Zone and Growth Spasm for mana generation supporting the token theme and other cards like Mirari's Wake , Seedborn Muse , Gaea's Cradle and Earthcraft .

I do like this deck a lot!! It's fun to play with and bounces back from board wipes like a champion!

Cards like Ratchet Bomb , Pithing Needle , Living Death etc, really hurt!

Thanks for taking the time to check out my deck and comment! Also a big thanks to everyone who has given my deck a +1!

Combos & Synergies

This whole deck is one big Synergy of token creation. Here's an example of what I mean... Let's say you draw Entreat the Angels , you're lucky enough to be able to play it for it's miracle cost using 6 mana in total giving you 4 4/4 flying angels. Worst case scenario it gets countered, next best scenario it doesn't get countered but this is all you can do. Now let's look at the best case scenario (and really even interacting with just 1 of the following cards would be awesome!). Ok... best case scenario let's say Parallel Lives is on the field that's 8 4/4 flying angels. Then tap Rhys the Redeemed and in one turn you can make up to 16 4/4 flying angels. Then play Second Harvest and now it is 32 4/4 flying angels. What if Champion of Lambholt is out on the battlefield, good chance no one will have creatures with power greater than 33. And if Trostani, Selesnya's Voice is on the field that's up to 128 life. Imagine that board state if True Conviction , Cathars' Crusade or Coat of Arms were on the board or if we took Doubling Season out of the sideboard - it's outta control!

The tokens created in this deck are largely at or below 2/2 P/T which means cards like Raise the Alarm , Eyes in the Skies , Midnight Haunting and so on work great with cards like Mentor of the Meek or Skullclamp for some good draw power.

Although modified, the original coding for this primer was developed by Epochalyptik here.
