Sideboard

Maybeboard

Have you ever asked yourself which strategy is better: building a TALL board made of a few very strong creatures, or a W I D E board made of a lot of tiny creatures? Well wonder no more, because this deck can do BOTH!! And all thanks to its commander Xavier Sal, Infested Captain, which can make your board wider with its first ability, or taller with its second ability!!

Making wide boards isn't easy, but Avenger of Zendikar has got you covered, he also suggests getting help from Mycoloth, Watchful Radstag, and Chasm Skulker, but don't forget there are a LOT of creatures here to help, and with this deck's mana curve, you should be able to fill your board pretty quick
If you don't want to wait for your creatures to have countless counters on them, don't worry, there are a lot of options to have your creatures enter the battlefield buffed: Arwen, Weaver of Hope, Bloodspore Thrinax, Master Biomancer, Renata, Called to the Hunt, Surrak and Goreclaw, and Master Chef
You now have a lot of creatures with counters on them, and maybe some of your opponents have either poison counters, you might as well proliferate a bit to pump those nubers up, right? For that, other than Xavier Sal, Infested Captain's second ability, we have Agent Frank Horrigan, Contaminant Grafter, Evolution Sage, Park Heights Maverick, Roalesk, Apex Hybrid, Tainted Observer, Thrummingbird, Viral Drake, Atomize, Mutational Advantage, Inexorable Tide, Contagion Engine, and Recon Craft Theta. Anyhow you will probably want Tekuthal, Inquiry Dominus on the board with its indestructible counter as soon as possible to double (or more) the effect of each proliferate you trigger.
maybe you don't like wide boards, and maybe you are here to watch big boys fight, and that's ok too. For people like you we have a variety of big boys like Agent Frank Horrigan, Roalesk, Apex Hybrid, Kalonian Hydra, and Slurrk, All-Ingesting, but most importantly we have small boys who do a lot of damage once they get big, like Blighted Agent, Champion of Lambholt, Chasm Skulker, Experiment One, Fathom Mage, Gyre Sage, Kami of Whispered Hopes, Mycoloth, and Viral Drake. To help make them big you can always count on Ezuri, Claw of Progress
This deck can get out of control real quick, but it requires a few key cards to do so, most importantly cards that double your counters come to mind, such as Doubling Season, Primal Vigor, Branching Evolution, Corpsejack Menace, Kalonian Hydra; but those cards that add one more counter to each trigger also get crazy quick, those cards would be Hardened Scales, Kami of Whispered Hopes, Winding Constrictor, and Ozolith, the Shattered Spire
Yes you can, this deck has a combination of draw engines and ramp engines that should cover your needs with Danny Pink, Fathom Mage, Marcus, Mutant Mayor, Tributary Instructor, and Bred for the Hunt to get you your favourite cards faster and Rishkar, Peema Renegade, Gyre Sage, Kami of Whispered Hopes, Defiler of Vigor, Fertilid, and all your favourite green ramps for all your mana needs
Now, are you winning son? of course you are, I'm so proud of you!
