Riku of Two Reflections EDH: Copy/Paste/Repeat

Commander / EDH Aggro Combo Infinite Combo RUG (Temur) Tokens Toolbox

Shinwizzles

I picked Riku of Two Reflections up on an impulse at the local card shop the other day. I saw his ability and figured it could stir up some serious chaos. The deck is focused mostly around ETB effects with some spell copying to add to Riku of Two Reflection's ability.

There are a few ramp spells and creatures in the deck such as Kodama's Reach, Explosive Vegetation, Coiling Oracle, and Farhaven Elf. These are pretty important in getting the necessary mana to get Riku of Two Reflections out and ready early. After Riku of Two Reflections is out on the field, any of these spells that haven't been played can be copied for extra ramp, or they can be returned from the graveyard via Eternal Witness and/or Regrowth. After a suitable mana base has been established, larger spells such as Boundless Realms, Rite of Replication, Green Sun's Zenith, and Genesis Wave can be cast and copied. These can lead the way to the bigger creatures, like the dragons and the other high CMC spells.

With all of the ETB and creature copying effects in the deck, it is possible to go infinite in a couple of ways. Palinchron can be copied infinitely with Riku of Two Reflection's ability. Copying the Worldgorger Dragon creates an infinite mana loop. Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker + Zealous Conscripts yields infinite attackers that turn. One of my personal favorite combos that takes a little work to set up, but is great when it goes off is to get Elvish Piper + Intruder Alarm + Llanowar Elves out at the same time. Tap the Llanowar Elves to trigger the Elvish Piper's ability to play a creature from hand while Intruder Alarm is on the field, and then repeat the process until there are no more creatures in hand to play. A wincon combo in the deck involves copying the Biovisionary with Riku of Two Reflections's ability, and then copying something like an unkicked Rite of Replication/Cackling Counterpart, or a Clone/Phyrexian Metamorph/Gigantoplasm. Simply copying Comet Storm enough times is a wincon as well, if enough was paid into the CMC. An interesting and fun way to win is to copy the Avenger of Zendikar enough times that the opponents simply quit, that's another one of my favorites. A pretty costly combo that is also pretty fun is to cast is Clone Legion and either copy it with the general's ability or follow it up with a copied (or not)Second Harvest, either option becomes much more dangerous if Parallel Lives happens to be on the field as well.

As far as complexity goes, this is probably one of my more complex decks, due to all the combos. It isn't as straightforward as playing critters and then swinging with them. I think I've got enough combos in the deck for it to be sufficiently dangerous, but any advice or suggestions would be appreciated. I think I have a decent balance of standalone creatures that are dangerous by themselves (or even more dangerous if copied), removal spells such as Into the Core and Decimate, and ramp spells to get Riku of Two Reflections onto the field early on in the game. This is my first deck that is based mostly around combo pieces and infinite combos, so I don't expect it to be perfect just yet. If there's anything that I'm missing, or anything that doesn't seem like it belongs in the deck, please let me know!

Thanks!
