Maybeboard

So, starting out, this deck is just gaining life and using it to make things big and kick a lot of ass. It has a pretty solid recursion sub-theme as well, which helps with bouncing back if someone decides to board wipe on you. Most of the time, Karlov doesn't even have to leave the comfort of the command zone. He just gets to watch the blood shed from afar.

Any feedback is welcome, as this is my only IRL EDH deck I actually own, so, I would love to make it more of a force to be reckoned with. It already does a decent job at it, but it could always use improvement.

Down below I've just broke down the Combat category to help with some confusion. The others, I feel, are pretty self-explanatory.

Combat

So, the combat category is essentially a lump sum of a few different types of combat cards, all focused around swinging big and wrecking face. The following info will be a breakdown of the cards in the category.

Life-Gain Creatures - Creatures that rely on instances of gaining life to get big, make things big, or anything else.

  • Archangel of Thune - Yes, I'd love to give everything a +1/+1 on every life gain. This can get out of hand super fast.
  • Bloodbond Vampire - Gets a +1/+1 on each life gain instance, pretty awesome.
  • Ajani's Pridemate - See Bloodbond Vampire.
  • Crested Sunmare - Horses. Horses everywhere. This is super helpful if you can have lifegain on
  • everyone's turn. You can have so many horses when it comes back round to you.

Combat Enablers - Basically, cards that enable creatures to swing away and help buff them up.

  • Ajani Goldmane - Helps make everything bigger, and can also help get a big dude out if you can ult.
  • Angelic Skirmisher - Lifegain, no tapping, or overcoming deathtouch. Your choice.
  • Concerted Effort - Want everything to have protection, flying, or first strike all the time? Cool.
  • Lightning Greaves - Want a big thing to swing away immediately? Me too.
  • Valor - Gives everything get first strike when he's not around. Hell yeah.
  • Whispersilk Cloak - Unblockable? HELL. YES.

Assorted Combat Cards - These are cards that didn't quite fit into the other two categories but definitely have a place in the deck.

  • Chainer, Dementia Master - Great for stealing big things from other people's graveyards, or your own recursion.
  • Divinity of Pride - It's almost a guarantee this will be a 8/8 all the time. Plus lifelink and flying? Hell yeah.
  • Phyrexian Processor - Pay 10 life and put this bad boy down, you can make a 10/10 on your turn every turn for 4 mana. Perfect.
  • Serra Ascendant - Again, almost a guarentee it'll be a 6/6 1 drop all the time.
  • Storm Herd - SO MANY PEGASUSES. This is a super cool card and has won me a few games.
  • Sun Titan - Perfect for recursion. A lot of the cards in this deck are under 3 CMC, so, this is a must have.
  • Sunscorch Regent - A flyer that can gain life and gets bigger with every spell an opponent casts. Seems fitting.
  • Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts - Perfect for swinging, since she's pro-creatures, and has great removal possibility.
  • Vizkopa Guildmage - Can be comboed with a big creature to gain lots of life and make opponents lose that much in one fell swoop.
