This started as the budget deck from The Commander's Quarters YouTube channel but has quickly become more focused and more powerful.

This deck is looking to do textbook Edric, Spymaster of Trest stuff by making a lot of small dudes that can't be blocked and then attacking to keep your grip nice and full. The counterspell suite is meant to protect your board and especially protect Edric from being removed. Once you've drawn a good amount of cards you want to look for an opportunity to chain extra turns together and to have countermagic available in case someone trys to stop you. A resolved Notorious Throng casted using prowl is generally just game over as you follow up with so much card draw which then leads to ways to recure the Throng resulting in more turns, more draws, and more winning. Other win conditions include Beastmaster Ascension and other Overrun type of effects such as Triumph of the Hordes . The most important extra turns are those that go to the graveyard as they can be reccured and used again and again.

Overall, this deck is a lot of fun to pilot and can get going very fast. The most important thing to look out for is to not overextend and to keep Edric on the field as he can become expensive very quickly after being removed a few times. Save your counterspells for things that particularly hinder your game plan and be ready to stand alone as your playgroup will turn on you after playing against this a time or two XD.

The maybeboard includes cards that can reduce the price of the deck even more by replacing some of the more expensive spells. Good luck and have fun drawing all the cards with this sweet budget build!
