Captain's Hook Discussion

I suggest running 2-drop rocks over 3-drops. I think you should run cards like Rakdos Signet over Obelisk of Grixis. I think Talisman of Indulgence, Talisman of Dominance and Talisman of Creativity are probably better than the signets though.
Dack Fayden is probably a good fit for this deck. He's powerful and a thief (sorta a land-pirate, I guess).
The cuts are going to depend on how much you're willing to compromise flavor. Captain's Hook, Prying Blade, Fell Flagship and Dusk Legion Dreadnought seem like good cuts. There're also a bunch of creatures you can cut for better ones or to get down to a hundred cards: Brazen Buccaneers, Crafty Cutpurse, Rigging Runner, Siren Lookout, Slippery Scoundrel and Talas Warrior. I don't think they do enough to be included.
That's all I got -- hope this helped.

I love a good tribal deck, and have considered building a pirate themed deck of my own. I think the Grixis aggro style decks are interesting, and Admiral Beckett Brass is a fun looking and vastly underplayed commander. I have a few thoughts that might help steer your deck building into a more precise direction.
One major thing I think you should lean more into the "combat damage to a player" aspect that your commander provides, as stealing permanents can be extremely important in EDH. Swarming the board with hard to block creatures will allow you to quickly gain advantage over your opponents, so I would play more cards that lean into that plan. Dire Fleet Neckbreaker, Bident of Thassa, and Rogue's Passage can help to keep pressure on your opponents, and Kitesail Freebooter provides another cheap flier that could snag removal/ramp spells from an opponent.
If you're just looking for fun tribal, might I suggest the biggest flavor win that you missed... Captain's Hook

They are fun cards and with the treason subtheme that pirates (and Beckett in particular) have, I think they can do some interesting things for the deck.
I also see that you've included Trove of Temptation . I don't think it fits. The treasures per turn are slow and you will often find yourself attacking with a lot of your creatures, so being attacked every turn is a conflicting strategy.
Anyhow, this is my list, maybe you'll see something you like.

Legendary Creature- Human Soldier
As long as ~ is a Pirate, at beginning of combat on your turn, for each artifact you control, target creature you control can’t be blocked until end of turn.
Partner with Saltwater Crocodile
Legendary Creature- Crocodile
When ~ enters the battlefield, put two -1/-1 counters on target creature you control, then search your library for an equipment card and put it in the battlefield attached to that creature.
Whenever a creature you don’t control dies, put a +1/+1 counter on ~.
Whenever a creature you control dies, put two -1/-1 counter on target creature an opponent controls.
Pirates you control get +0/+1
Partner with Captain Hook
This was made to go with you searching Captain's Hook and attaching it to Captain Hook when the croc etb. Anyways do a WILDCARD

Love this deck - Going to build it!
Some changes I'll be making to fit the meta for my kitchen table games/flavor:

Vraska's Contempt is a must. Instant, so you can react to opponent movements; can target Planeswalkers, not many cards can do that in the enviroment right now.
Black/White mana, has not a solid base right now. I would include Isolated Chapel, and change Hierophant's Chalice with Chromatic Lantern. Your deck does not have a lot of double color spells, so this will be only relevant if you find yourself having problem with fixing the mana.
If your plan is to shift to Vampires Legion Lieutenant, Legion's Landing, Champion of Dusk and Radiant Destiny should be right choices. Adding Vanquisher's Banner is for late, and with no mana acceleration could be a little heavy, but the card draw power is quite good in a tribal deck. Blood Operative is good against the new mechanic Jump-start, but you need more cards with surveil for it to work. Twilight Prophet and Sanctum Seeker are pretty strong too. I feel as you have little removal, Cast Down and Price of Fame are both pretty solid, the later being specially good in a format with a constant legendary treat.
Consider taking outYargle, Glutton of Urborg 5 manas, no vampire, no tramble or other evasion. Arvad the Cursed You don't have a lot of legendary creatures, 5 manas for a 3/3 with no evasion, you can find better things.Encampment Keeper and Walking Corpse must go if you want to take the tribal approach. I would changeCobbled Wings for Captain's Hook, it can do a lot of damage, and is pretty good in creatures with lifelink. Queen's Commission might be nice too.
Good Luck. P.S.:Sorry for my bad english.

Thanks for your input WreckingHines! Last night, I gave this deck a try on Arena, and just like you said, blackblade was unimpressive. On one of the games, all it did was give a little boost to the Serra Disciples. My initial idea with it was to increase the power of my legendary mentors, and make it harder to make them leave de field by turn five or six. Maybe for that, Jousting Lance would be more consistent? Ideally, Captain's Hook could give the ground mentors evasion on turn 4 even, but with so many main deck artifact removals in the format, it's too easy to get 2 for one'd. Dub has the same problem, but now with creature removals. Maybe Switching Teshar for Shalai, Voice of Plenty would help?
Resplendent Angel is great, but I was trying to curve more aggressively, with all 3 drop creatures having haste (and it worked great in most matches). But I will try it in some games eventually.
