Primer incoming

I’ve been having a break from magic for a while. The new Innistrad set was slowly pulling me back in so I decided to brew something up around the new dimir zombie general and just have a bit of fun.

What this deck is.

I preordered the deck and started having a bit of a play, thinking that I’d sort out my final list when the deck was revealed. This build is something I probably will make over time, a lot of the more expensive cards I do have in other decks or spare copies of so I only need to get a few extra cards to make this deck, probably I’ll be spending £50? (I hope) I wanted to try and make something that I would find fun to pilot and that I could sit down at any table at my LGS and just kick it with.

The decks aims

First and foremost I’d like to discuss the key themes and principals of this deck.

This deck is a tribal zombie deck at heart. It aims to win by generating a lot of value with death triggers. It is set up to fill the board with zombie tokens which can either then create a win condition through combat damage or by comboing off to win the game on the spot.

Combos

The below are infinite combos. Gravecrawler + Phyrexian Altar Gravecrawler + Rooftop Storm & any sac outlet Ebondeath, Dracolich + Rooftop Storm & any sac outlet. These create infinite death triggers that can be abused to win the game. - Diregraf Captain - Altar of the Brood - Plague Belcher - Vengeful Dead Will all win the game via life drain with the above combos. I’m also running card draw to interact with these combos as well as some ramp. - Liliana, Dreadhorde General - Liliana's Standard Bearer These two will allow us to draw into the other answers we need whilst - Pitiless Plunderer Creates infinite mana with the above loops.
