Superfriends w/ Ramos

Commander / EDH

Zennargle

This is a relatively casual superfriends deck with Ramos, Dragon Engine as the commander. I had had my reservations of playing superfriends after reading online about people's experiences with them, but if you're considering making one, I would recommend doing it! I'm happy with this deck I've made, it works well, is fun to play and to play against.

The deck can win a bunch of ways with commander damage from Ramos being probably the most consistent win con and uses strong planeswalker support (Still very much having that "Superfriends" feel). The great thing about Ramos is the spells that effect his +1/+1 counters ability don't have to be cast from hand. So extra spell casts from cascade, Sunbird's invocation, villainous wealth, and Nico Bolas count as casting the spells and give him counters. The deck can also win with both of the vraska's ults and stuff you pull from opponents with Nico Bolas and villainous wealth. It focuses on planeswalker support with cascade and proliferate sub themes.

Most of the lower CMC planeswalkers create blockers, help ramp with untapping lands and permanents, and draw you cards. While it's not always optimal to suicide them instantly, most of them it's okay if they get killed off.

One of the main reasons planeswalker decks can seems so crazy is that it plays so many of them and each one is really a big threat. It's true for a large amount of them that if they get their ult off, it is very crippling for opponents and will make it very hard for them to win at that point. Thats why doubling season and deepglow skate are such powerhouses in the deck and with the large amount of mana that Ramos gives you, you can easily cast a planeswalker in the same turn, making it harder for your opponents to have answers.
