Ninjutsu is an interesting ability. It's a combat trick that swaps unblocked weenies with hefty attackers from your hand. The name of the game is to drop cheap evasive attackers and ninjutsu ninjas in to connect.

Baneful Omens Show

Most Ninjas have some form of on-hit trigger, but the real winner here is the commander: Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow. She makes it so that whenever any ninja deals combat damage, you reveal the top card of your library, each opponent loses life equal to its converted mana cost, and you get to put it into your hand. Most ninjas have pretty low power, so this is most likely our avenue to victory. However, just stuffing a deck full of high-cmc spells doesn't quite work out. That's where a few tricks come in:

1. Split Cards: A while back, split cards had different converted mana costs for either half of the card (allowing some fun tricks with Isochron Scepter), but they have since been changed to have the CMC equal the combined costs of both halves of the card. This means that though split cards are usually cheap to cast, they can drain for a lot off of Yuriko's ability.
2. Undaunted: Undaunted, an ability added in Commander 2016, reduces the cost to cast a spell by {1} for each opponent you have. Many of them are higher-costed versions of other spells that can usually cost less or be on-par with other similar spells in multiplayer games. This means that while they have a high cmc for Yuriko, they're usually not too expensive to cast.
3. Delve: This one is pretty self-explanatory. Delve cards usually have a very high CMC, but you can "delve", exile cards from your graveyard and reducing the cost of the spell by {1} for each card you exiled. This once again means that they have a high cmc but can be cast easily.
4. Twobrid Mana: Twobrid mana (such as that found in Beseech the Queen) increase the CMC of a spell. So while it can be cast for {B}{B}{B}, it's converted mana cost is six.

Subterfuge Show

Another piece of the puzzle is getting our ninjas in contact with opponents. Since ninjutsu requires an unblocked attacker, filling the deck up with evasive creatures is pretty much necessary.

• Changeling Outcast and Phantom Ninja are useful as not only Ninjutsu enablers, but they're ninjas themselves, able to trigger Yuriko's ability.
• Ornithopter is amazing, mostly due to the fact that it's free. Drop this turn 1 and you'll get Yuriko going on turn 2. Then, just recast the Ornithopter for {0}!
• Slither Blade and Invisible Stalker also drop early, and the Stalker's hexproof helps it stay on the board.
• Dimir Infiltrator can be an evasive attacker, or tutor up any 2 CMC card in the deck (like say Counterspell)
• Sun Quan, Lord of Wu also makes everything on your board psuedo-unblockable
• Thalakos Seer: Evasive, and draws a card when it dies or we Ninjutsu it back to hand.

Stack the Deck Show

When we trigger Yuriko, the last thing we want is to whiff and hit a land off the top. Thankfully, there are ways to keep the odds in our favor and manipulate the top of our deck. Soothsaying and Sensei's Divining Top allow us to rearrange the top few cards of our deck, setting up the perfect order to drain out each opponent. Dissolve has a scry tacked on, which can let us decide if we want to keep the top card or send it to the bottom. Finally the MVPs here are Brainstorm and Scroll Rack. With them we can just plop whatever bomb we have in hand on top so we can really smash face. Finally, if we know what's on top and don't quite like our options, Polluted Delta and Bad River give us a way to shuffle our deck.
