The 2 main themes of this deck are multicolor and +1/+1 counters

Playing multicolor spells puts a stress on the effectiveness of the deck, as it makes it harder to reach the requirements to pay certain spells. For this reason I decided to keep the average CMC as low as possible. The big payoff card for a multicolor deck like this is Knight of New Alara . Once you drop this your board presence suddenly is on a whole new level. Luckily we also have Recruiter of the Guard in this deck, which can tutor for our bomb.

The other theme of the deck is +1/+1 counters. We have cards that place +1/+1 counters on our creatures, for example Drana, Liberator of Malakir, Oath of Ajani , Juniper Order Ranger, while also having payoff cards.

Abzan Battle Priest grants lifelink to our cards with a +1/+1 counter on them, Ivorytusk Fortress allows us to untap them on each untap step, granting pseudo-vigilance and also allowing us to use our creatures to make mana through Cryptolith Rite, while keeping them to block. Hardened Scales makes for even bigger creatures, by speeding up the counters placed on creatures.
