Maybeboard

This deck has a pretty simple, highly redundant plan. Much like the Modern deck, it wants to play a cheap creature with Infect, throw a few pump spells at it, and one-hit-kill people out of completely nowhere.

We're basically a combo deck with numerous, interchangeable pieces; thankfully, this means we're relatively resilient to disruption, since any of our interrupted pieces are easily replaced with another piece from our deck. Additionally, the curve of our deck is super low for Commander and our combo pieces are really cheap to cast, meaning we can kill someone as early as turn 2, and we get turn 3 kills with surprising consistency (Invigorate and Berserk are total all-stars in making that magic happen).

There is some bad news though: Our combo's weaknesses are kill spells and counterspells, which are similarly cheap and redundant in our opponents' decks. We have cards like Blossoming Defense and Heroic Intervention to help with that a little, but our best bet is to just not overextend into opponents with open mana. On a related note, our combo is highly card-intensive. Normally, in 1vs1, this wouldn't be an issue, since your opponent is likely dead if you have no cards in hand, but, in most games, we have the honor of bringing phyrexian glory to 3 other players. Luckily for us, we have answers to both these problems!

To replenish our hand, we have a bunch of cheap card draw (except Recurring Insight which is too good to not have). Windfall effects are particularly good in our deck because we're likely to be able to burn through our cards way faster than our opponents, meaning we'll get way more value off of them. Remember, the goal of our card draw effects is more to swiftly refill our hand so we can combo off again and less to gain value over the course of a game. We're an aggressive deck, meaning the longer the game goes on, the less likely we are to win.

It's worth noting that Regrowth effects are incredible in our deck. They're good in all combo decks because they can return destroyed pieces to our hand, but they are especially good in our deck because all of our pieces are so cheap, meaning we can easily play Regrowth and the card we got immediately. Additionally, we can regrow pump spells we've just cast, in order to combo off in a turn we otherwise couldn't have. Pump spell + Regrowth + that same pump spell, is an important play in our deck that gives us a little more reach. Additionally, we've deliberately avoided the Windfalls that exile themselves so can regrow our draw effects and combo off yet again.

Jace's Archivist, Eternal Witness, and Skullwinder are surprisingly important cards for us because they are important effects for our deck stapled to creatures, meaning we can fetch them off of a Green Sun's Zenith or Primal Command. Additionally, these cards can just search up another Infect guy if that's what we need.

This deck's secondary win condition is voltron-ing Kaseto, which is pretty easy with cards like Inquisitor's Flail and Fireshrieker, our pump spells, and Kaseto's ability to give himself unblockable and +2/+2 per activation. Though it's less efficient than Infect, we can still kill unsuspecting players out of nowhere with 21 commander damage.

Overall, this strategy is strong against combo and control players that take a while to get started. While they're playing mana rocks and trying to set up, you are literally swinging for lethal. In metas that start their games faster, this deck gets a little worse. The deck is an assassin. It takes people by surprise and strikes with lethal force before they can respond. On that note, expect to kill one player whenever you sit down with the deck, but temper your expectations of killing everyone else too. Not only is our win condition much worse in multiplayer, but we will be public enemy number 1 really fast (as assassins should be). However, you are guaranteed to have a profound impact on the game in all but the most competitive metas, even if you don't ultimately win the game. If you're tired of boring games with nothing but decks that durdle and durdle until someone lucks into a win, pick up a crazy deck like this one and make shit happen!

As always, I'm totally open to suggestions, as this deck is absolutely a work in progress! However, keep in mind that this is a relatively budget deck. All of the cards in the deck that cost more than $5 are cards that I already own and none are integral to making the deck work (though I'd highly recommend picking up Berserk).
