Summary

This deck is built around utilizing the abilities of Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca to their maximum potential, in a tribal merfolk edh shell because merfolk are my favorite tribe :)

Core Cards

Deeproot Waters, Reflections of Littjara, and Lullmage Mentor all work to fill the board with merfolk to be used as fuel for Kumena's engine(s).

Kumena, Tyrant of Orazca and Merrow Reejerey can both be used to create versatile and effective engines that are fun and worthwhile to set up and execute, but still engaging to play against so my friends don't start to hate me.

Merrow Harbinger, Forerunner of the Heralds, Neoform, and Seahunter are all used to tutor responses like Masked Vandal as well as important engine pieces like the aforementioned Merrow Reejerey.

Kopala, Warden of Waves and Svyelun of Sea and Sky make it harder for opponents to target my stuff, and Swift Warden, Tamiyo's Safekeeping and Snakeskin Veil are all effective last resorts when opponents do decide to target stuff.

Engines

Here are a few useful engines/combos in the deck that don't have to be assembled to win, but are really interesting to pull off.

Merrow Reejerey Engines Show

Merrow Reejerey + Simic Growth Chamber allows you to cast merfolk for functionally {G}{U} less, and makes any {1}{G} or {1}{U} Merfolk free. Expanding on this, Stonybrook Banneret makes {1}{U}{G} Merfolk free as well. Combine this effect with cards that care about Merfolk being cast or entering the battlefield like Deeproot Waters, Deeproot Elite, and River Sneak for extra value.

It's worth noting that copies of spells made by Reflections of Littjara do not count as cast triggers for Merrow Reejerey or Deeproot Waters. However, they do count as ETB triggers for Deeproot Elite and River Sneak.

It's also worth noting that pretty much every piece of this engine apart from Merrow Reejerey itself can be redundant, so as long as you have a Reejerey out you can build smaller engines out of it. Here are some redundancies that may be worth taking into consideration.

• Simic Growth Chamber can be replaced by any land that taps for more than one mana to pretty much the same effect. Think any Island with an Overgrowth or Wild Growth on it. I don't run these bc my version of the deck needs a lot of blue mana and Cultivate, Harrow, Rampant Growth, and Growth Spiral can all ramp effectively while fixing blue for me, which enchantments like Overgrowth just don't do. Verdant Haven is the closest you get to a land enchantment that works for this situation and also fixes blue, but it's still not quite as efficient or as safe as the land ramp cards I've already got in the deck. Still very much worth considering, though.

• Simic Growth Chamber can also be sort of replaced by any dual land + Stonybrook Banneret for the same free {1}{GU} cost Merfolk effect.

• Stonybrook Banneret can be replaced with Herald's Horn or any other cost-reduction cards, if you want to run them.
