Jhoira gonna get your ass beat, mang!

Commander / EDH Budget Multiplayer U/R (Izzet)

Suspend fatties, bounce and counter stuff till those big ol' beasties can start beating up your opponents.

Looking for suggestions to slowly build it up better. Maybe better creatures to swap out, maybe ways to slow opponents down a bit. I'm thinking of dropping 2 wipe/bounce spells to replace with spot removal (i got hit HARD by a Void Attendant throwing my suspended stuff into my graveyard). I definitely need more card draw as playing from your library sucks with Jhoria.

Hi, mate. Looks like you need help with the deck and I have some spare time so lets get to it.Firstly I think you have too many creatures, some of which don't have good synergy with the deck idea, mainly Flameblast Dragon, Jhoira's Timebug, Mercurial Chemister, Rift Elemental, Shivan Sand-Mage, Timebender. Some of those remove time counters but are just weak overall.I also don't like the wall cycle, the tempo gain from blocking a big creature is negligible in a multiplayer format and your wall still dies, I'd replace those too for say a Propaganda. Archivist can be replaced with Arcanis the Omnipotent same mana from jhoira, 2 more cards.

As for the spells Clockspinning, Fury Charm, Mana Leak and Timecrafting don't go enough to warrant a place in the deck and i think you should try to replace them with some kind of draw spells or counterspells without unless they play etc. Think Counterspell or Cancel

About the land base: Faerie Conclave, Looming Spires Soaring Seacliff are simply basic taplands that will slow you down immensely. Magosi, the Waterveil Shimmering Grotto Thespian's Stage don't do enough either. If you are solid on keeping Magosi, the Waterveil you need to add something to proliferate in order to get free counters instead of keep skipping turns. maybe Contagion Engine but it won't remove counters from suspended cards so its pretty much only for this 1 card.

For spot removal you can add Chaos Warp or maybe a Pongify for something especially nasty. Otherwise counter spells should be fine if someone targets you, and you should have the mana open anyway since you dont need to cast anything on your turn.

You can also add maybe 1-2 cards to protect jhoira from removal cost wise they go Swiftfoot Boots<Whispersilk Cloak<Lightning Greaves<Darksteel Plate

Lastly I'd put Drift of Phantasms just for the transmute ability to get Paradox Haze. Its one of my favorite cards and in your deck it will work wonders. Hope my advices will be of use to you and if you have any other questions feel free to ask. Cheers :)

Kira, the Great Glass-Spinner would be good protection for the big guys and bring Guile in for extra fun!

Archaeomancer might be good too as would Quicksilver Amulet as an additional way to cheat out creatures

Madcookie can't proliferate Magosi, the Waterveil really as it gets returned to hand anyway. The reason I have the creatures that remove counters is because in my local meta, by the time I get a fatty out of suspend I'm dealing with like 3 10/10 creatures (happened today) to go against. At least stripping the counters lets me drop something quickly. With the list of creatures you believe are too weak for the deck, what would you replace them with? What can let me live enough to do stuff? :) Open to suggestions there

Polupus Kira, the Great Glass-Spinner could be amusing. Not sure about Quicksilver Amulet though. 4 to cheat in a creature is 2 suspensions I could have. Might be useful though. hmm

Wolfrage76 Well in that case you are left with pretty much one option - to make a huge turn. You can do this by replacing the cards I told you with some form of stalling - say bouncing back, Cyclonic Rift, Boomerang that kind of thing or with good old board wipes. You do run some similar spells as well. This is to be done if they target you and you feel very pressured. As for the huge turn it should go like this - step 1 have jhoira on the field. Step 2 at the same time in any given turn (preferably the guy right before you) you suspend the following cards 1-3 big guys (the dream would be Hellkite Charger+Neheb, the Eternal which means infinite attack phases) and a random board wipe. I'd strongly recommend my personal favourite Obliterate for the flavor and usefullness, but you can go with anything you like Blasphemous Act, Star of Extinction, Evacuation etc. Then all you need to do is survive for 4 turns(2 with Paradox Haze until they come online. For this reason you are playing the bounces and counterspells. Then when the suspended cards begin to resolve you stack the board wipe to act first, clear the board, hopefully the lands too with obliterate, then smash in the big guys, attack fact with haste and simply win from there.

As for other replacements, you should try to add card draw to the deck, as its really limited as of now. However good blue draw can be expensive sometimes like Rhystic Study and the red I can think of is counterproductive in your deck Outpost Siege and Vance's Blasting Cannons  Flip :S. Look in https://magiccards.info/search.html I always check there first for certain types of mechanics and such when building a deck.

So all in all if you can get the cards I mentioned it should make the deck much better. Hope this was helpful :)
