Commander: Karona, False God

Maybeboard

5 Color EDH Human Tribal. I strongly considered wizzards but I hate playing mono and Marchesa/Jeleva are boring to me so I decided to open up my possibilities by choosing human and boy was I suprised! There are a TON of great human cards and after only perusing 3-4 drop legends I was sold. I still took it a step farther however and added some wonderful non legends at 3 and below cost.

Idea is to have creatures (aside from commander) that make my average CMC somewhere between 2 and 3. The reasoning for this is I want my board state to fall somewhere between "Elves" and "Zombies" and definitely fill up faster than Dragons. In short cards in play = turns taken*1.2

It should work out like this:

Turn 1- 1 thing on board.

Turn 2- 2 things on board.

Turn 3- 3 things on board

Turn 4-4 things on board

Turn 5-6 things on board.

Having 3 things on board by turn five is of course also acceptable this is just the sort of board state I want to develop.

Some of the greatest cards to have in opening hand are:

Yisan, the Wanderer Bard

Imperial Recruiter

Call to the Kindred

Some of what I consider the most important cards are:

Athreos, God of Passage - Because board state? He also usually has devotion if you got him through Yisan.

Yisan, the Wanderer Bard - Can get us a Realmwright or a Weathered Wayfarer

Disciple of Deceit - Can ditch something to get Golgari Charm or Boros Charm . I haven't actually tested with him yet though so there's a decent chance he won't make the cut.

Xathrid Necromancer - Helps negate our squishiness.

Grim Haruspex - This guy is absolutely amazing. As great as Mentor of the Meek is Haruspex can pick up the slack for any non token based wienie deck.

I'm sure there are also some really good uncommons that I could have included but I just don't feel like looking through the gatherer database anymore tonight. I've only tested twice and both times my land drops were perfect for playing out my hand.

Lastly I put this in the casual bracket because it's not french competitive and doesn't like to eat board wipes over and over. If you feel so inclined Living Death may serve you well with this deck.

Hello everyone. My profile is getting cluttered and I dislike that. So i'm taking the deck off of my profile.

Besides, Allies is a much better 5 color deck imo. Recently I played against one with Zedruu's Foreign Policy and despite using Cryptic Command 8-9 times, getting back my lock pieces 6-8 times altogether the deck was still holding on with a huge board state, dealing mega damage every turn and milling decently with just 2 mana per turn.

So anyways, if you want to look at the deck or copy it as the base for your own feel free. It just won't be on my profile anymore.
