Sorcery (1)

Hey all, this is my take on a Yuriko, the Tiger's Shadow edh deck. This was built as soon as the spoiler came out. Our main categories fall into ; Main Drain, Cheap Ones and of course our Ninjutsu.

Main Drain: Breaks down into any of our 6 drops and above. I tried to stick to things that would either help give us more value from our unblockable dudes and or helped give us huge value late game. Some have delve, miracle and though they aren't expensive the split cards count total CMC of both ends making them perfect for this deck.

The deck also has tons of 1 Mana drops. Few things have been as good feeling as turn 1 dork into turn 2 yuriko. You are able to scratch out quite the lead if things land well and your group is like mine and doesn't typically play anything till turn 4 or 5 creature wise.

Exquisite Blood is a card I thought of the other day randomly and as soon as I did I had to include it. Lifegain isn't anything busted in this deck but it will help soak up some hate.

Baneful Omen, Twilight Prophet, Xenograft and Arcane Adaptation are all ways for us to get yuriko type affects more often one way or another or start stacking them up.

Prowler's Helm is a pet card of mine that I like cause of its cheap cost. Alternatively you could use Lightning Greaves or Whispersilk Cloak. I looked up the rulings and to my understanding shroud says targeting while Ninjutsu does not. So you could get cheeky there. (Please correct me if I'm wrong there). Another interesting bit is that you can cypher onto things that aren't always creatures! originally I had Stolen Identity in this deck but now I only run Whispering Madness. But apparently cards that can temporarily become creatures (in our case Mutavault and Dimir Keyrune can be cypher'd/ encrypted onto. This doesn't work like an aura would, it stays on the permanent. definitely a nifty feature to say the least. the ability is also a may ability, so you don't have to cast the free spell if you don't want to. Even if you don't like the cypher cards I would still run Mutavault and Dimir Keyrune. When I play this deck and the board gets wiped it's very fun to see the opponents face when they still get attacked and ninjutsu'd the next turn.

No I didn't just slam every ninja in the deck. I did keep the good ones though. Ninjas aren't inherently unblockable themselves, so I went with the same logic I have in token decks. I would rather have more tokens in the deck than pump affects because without the tokens I have nothing to pump. So if o have all the ninja but no way of Ninjutsuing them in I don't see good things.

Our Transmute cards Perplex and Clutch of the Undercity allow us to search out very specific cards that we may need. Cards like Arcane Adaptation, No Mercy, Propaganda, Thassa, God of the Sea and more can be tutored up for next to no cost if the need arises.

If yuriko is not in your hand or CZ and you need her to be, we have a package for that too; Diabolic Intent High Market Quickling and Cavern Harpy are all able to bounce her to where she needs to go in a pinch or another ninja if need be.

Anyway I ll probably edit this some more and add to the description later on but I think that ll get some gears turning for some people who may be as excited as I was for this deck. The commander is great the flavor and feel are great. The one con I have is when you flip a land it sucks but that doesn't hapen too too much with the right top deck manipulation. If you got this far leave a comment I'm always open to talk and swap ideas.
