add some kind of sac outlet or a couple more instant creature kills, and add Curse of Fool's Wisdom to pair with that Vilis, Broker of Blood .

Sorin Markov and Sorin's Vengeance wouldn't be bad here. I have both I could trade away if you want. Other cards I have that I'm willing to trade to you that could help this deck is Kalitas, Bloodchief of Ghet and Drana, Kalastria Bloodchief and Bloodhusk Ritualist .

Directions to take this would be board control, hand control, an aristocrats utilizing Viscera Seer and Blood Artist . Blood Seeker wouldn't hurt against go wide strategies. I have all three of those if you'd to trade for them too.

Bontu the Glorified isn't bad here, and works well with Blood Artist .

Whip of Erebos can help recover alot of life you'll be losing. Come to think of it, Erebos, God of the Dead isn't too bad as it will shut down life gain decks and draw you cards.

Nirkana Revenant is great for this deck.

Dread Shade with a Whispersilk Cloak or other evasion enabler can do some serious damage.

Ob Nixilis, Unshackled can do some serious damage.

Any of the Ob Nixilis planeswalkers and Lili plansewalkers wouldn't hurt

Put in a bit more Land, you should be running 22-24 land depending on how much your CMC is. As SynergyBuild says, you should definitely be running 4x Godless Shrine. Also, in two color decks, you shouldn't be running lotus field. Run Vampire Nighthawk instead of your Bloodthirsty Aerialist . Also, run 6 swamps and 3 plains instead of 3 swamps and 6 plains. Maybe throw in a few more swamps while you're at it. In my opinion, I wouldn't run any plains, just more swamps. You should get more dual lands that don't have to be tapped on their first turn. Also, your cards have a very high mana cost so I would throw in a few Bontu's Monument Also, your creature cards should work well together, but your's don't seem to work while together. I would get rid of Call to the Feast and replace it with some creature cards that can summon vampires, such as Bloodline Keeper  Flip or Kalitas, Bloodchief of Ghet , but if you run them, only run 1-3 as they are expensive. I would run fewer Champions of dusk,as they are expensive and you don't have much lifegain. Also, run 1 less Bolas's Citadel and maybe run some more lifegain, like Drana's Emissary , Rest for the Weary or Chaplain's Blessing

When I was a learning player my Cmdr was Kalitas, Bloodchief of Ghet . I had no problem with it, but the meta has shifted and that card is bad. I would suggest a Cmdr that's not confusing. One that does exactly what it reads. I think drawing cards is the funniest thing in magic so I suggest Selvala, Explorer Returned . Its low costed, it's not gonna break the bank, people like selvala because people like drawing cards, so it doesn't die to spot removal often, she can generate lots of mana to play big spells, and playing big spells is the next most fun thing you can do. It doesn't make you fo a specific theme, Plus it's my second Cmdr while I was a learning player.

If that's not good I think Queen Marchesa it another good option. For some of the same reasons.

Hello!

So I recently acquired a copy of Kalitas, Bloodchief of Ghet from my LGS. I thought the art looked very cool, and I never got a chance to play with the original zendikar block so I thought maybe I should try him out in EDH. Problem is, I have no idea where to use him. I'd like to lean away from Vampire Tribal so Edgar is out, and I can't decide if I should use him as a commander. I'm in a tier 2.5-3 meta and even though we're casual, he seems pretty slow. Anyone have any experience with him as the commander? Anyone have him in a deck at all?

Not a big fan of Torment of Hailfire, in a 60 card deck with small life totals.. it's a sketchy card, but in commander it's far to easy to "opt out" with it. Besides the cost is a bit too expensive for what it does.

I would look into replacing Licia, sanguine Tribune with Kalitas, Bloodchief of Ghet. Kalitas is a bit cheaper, doesn't require 3 colors and the effect is honestly more devastating.

This probably goes without saying, but the faster you get rid of those tap lands, the faster the deck improves.

The biggest issue I see here is the overall CMC of most of the creatures. It's fairly high and while many are good, Edgar works at his best when he has an army to work with. With 37 lands and the bulk of the creatures on the higher end of the curve, you will often find yourself struggling to get anything out. If anything I would look to reduce the number of 4+ CMC's to what is most in line with your objective for the deck.

Some of the spells are less efficient than they could be, but that's always something to work on. Cards like Phyrexian Arena, Necropotence, and Ad Nauseam can provide a significant boost to your hand, as would cards like Demonic Tutor and Vampiric Tutor.

Lastly the interaction could be improved, Anguished Unmaking, Utter End, Vindicate, and Path to Exile are staples in these colors that honestly should never be left out. Forced sacrifice is good, but outright removal is better and 3 of those 4 are very universal in application.

The deck is as you say it is, stock with improvements.. which isn't terrible and certainly serviceable. For now I would just work at improving the staple things (interaction, draw, and land) until you get a really good feeling for exactly what you want the deck to, then begin tinkering. When you figure that out and you still want help, update your description. It helps people to give you more precise advice.
