What is your favorite card to play in EDH?

I remember playing Feline Ferocity, the first deck I played in EDH just as it came out, only slightly editted with a few modern cards that I owned, as I had played modern for a few years prior. When I cast Hunter's Prowess, triggered Arahbo, Roar of the World on my 4/4 Phantom Nishoba, attacking, doubling with Arahbo, getting in for 20 damage, life, and cards, it was amazing.

To date, I believe that card in that moment was what got me into EDH, ever since I have loved that card, and despite being a cEDH player currently, I always love that card and cards like it (Soul's Majesty, Return of the Wildspeaker, Rishkar's Expertise, etc.).

Are there any cards that just make you love playing EDH? I've heard Sol Ring, Zendikar Resurgent, etc. all get people in the EDH mood, what do you all like?

Shamanic Revelation, Growing Rites of Itlimoc  Flip and Ashnod's Altar all put a smile on my face when I play them

I've only been playing commander for about six months now, and I have cast the card numerous times before, but the first time I cast Ad Nauseam during a commander game almost made me squeal in absolute delight

Historically, Sun Titan has a very special place in my heart. I always toss around the idea of running him whenever I run white as a supplemental color in EDH. The initial interaction I fell in love with was Sun Titan's ETB/attack trigger getting back an Eternal Witness from my yard to get anything back to my hand. I later discovered how nuts he is with reanimator shells, cheating out bonkers creatures by returning an Animate Dead, Dance of the Dead, or Necromancy into play. There's also the swingy option of returning Underworld Breach to play every turn with an attack trigger and basically getting a free pseudo-Yawgwin into play on each of my turns.

Overall, I think there's just always huge merit to running him. If I'm really strapped on a top end when I'm in white, the thought "but what about Sun Titan" is bound to drift into my mind at some point.

Righteous Aura is a pet card of mine for any deck I run White in. Got an especially fun combo in my lifegain deck with that and Command the Dreadhorde

I like cards that effect everyone (relatively) uniformly; like Havoc Festival, Copper Tablet, Thought Prison, and Triskaidekaphobia. The trouble is they generally end up killing me more often than my opponents ;P

Pulling off a Global Ruin in my wubrg natural disaster deck, with five lands remaining? That’s the best.

SynergyBuild, at first I just read the title and replied.

I just read the rest of it and I do have a different card. My card is Vampire Nighthawk.

That card amazed me. I knew very lil about magic at this time. Lifelink and deathtouch were awesome to me and spawned a frenzy in me. Wanting to know all the best creatures with deathtouch and lifelink. This was before I started playing edh. The first edh deck I built was Kalitas, Bloodchief of Ghet. I had built it with vampire tribal in mind (inspired by the vampire nighthawk), it was so much fun. My first combo was Sanguine Bond and Exquisite Blood, and everyone hated it so much. At this time infinite combos in my group were frowned upon very much so. Another cool card I really liked in that deck was Painful Quandary they also really hated this card alot lol. At this time my group was new to cmdr and didn't understand the importance of card draw and removal, including myself. The next combos I assembled in this deck before I took it apart was Bloodchief Ascension and Mindcrank, then Sanguine Bond and Blood Tribute. The deck also contained Rise of the Dark Realms and Army of The Dammed . Again at the time was very reliable win condition cards.

Definitely Villainous Wealth. I love ramping into that and getting a bunch of stuff, especially with something like Unbound Flourishing. Simic was my first love (RIP Prophet of Kruphix), and I still prefer to play a +1/+1 counters deck, but pulling that card from Khans is what brought me into Sultai colors (and Corpsejack Menace isn't bad either).

Mirage Mirror does it for me. So unassuming yet holds great potential power. Very versatile little card that has found a slot in almost all my edh decks.

Mirage Mirror is pretty nuts. It protects itself incredibly well too. Like you can just turn it into a creature in response to artifact removal and let that spell fizzle. It's a pretty sweet card that I don't see played as often as I used to anymore so I'm glad you're still making use of it.

Attach Helm of the Host to Mirage Mirror after you've made it a copy of some baddass creature your opponent controls to get one for yourself.

Authority of the Consuls is a very innocuous-looking 1drop that ends up gaining me at least 20 life and ruins all surprise blocking my opponents would be trying.

Aven Mindcensor is always the most Gotcha!-card in a game. People search their libraries so much in this format, it's never just a flying ambush viper.

Zendikar Resurgent, Mirari's Wake, Extraplanar Lens, Gauntlet of Power, Caged Sun and Nyxbloom Ancient really give me the feeling that I'm playing commander. spending 20 mana each turn is the epitome of edh, at least in my experience. Combined with Beast Whisperer and The Great Henge, I just keep spewing my hand in play, and next turn I get to do it again, because my playgroup doesn't like players attacking with creatures, there's so many boardwipes all the time. Therefore, free token generators like Thopter Spy Network, Shark Typhoon and Sandwurm Convergence are also favourites.

Ive been known to have my favorite card be Storm Herd. It isn't a great card but god is it fun blasting out tons of horses and just horsing people to death. I made a Golos, Tireless Pilgrim deck just to have an excuse to keep the card in a deck. Cheat horses!!
