Ranar? I Barely Know Her!

Commander / EDH Exile WU (Azorius)

Dissatisfied with the way Brago blink plays out (even when I find the necessary combo pieces swiftly, the way it's built to shut the game down is not fun to play against, hence "Brago, Game Eternal"), and despite the fact that it means I would be running three decks now whose commanders produce spirit tokens ( Kykar, Wind's Fury doing a prowess thing with them, and Millicent, Restless Revenant just going full-tilt typal), I think Ranar is best-suited to filling the blink niche that I've always had in my deckertoire since I started playing EDH in 2013.

The trick, I think, to making Ranar blink tick is to just blink as much as possible. It's entirely possible to get 15+ tokens by turn six if sequencing the likes of Charming Prince, Guardian of Ghirapur and of course Felidar Guardian. Even slower returns like Flickerwisp can accrue serious value bouncing each other across opponents' turns after you've had an aggressive, swingy-turn to produce some backup, for example.

Unlike Kykar and Millicent, too, this Ranar build is less interested in spirits themselves (with the exception of a spare Drogskol Captain for protection). Instead, the focus is less on prowess and less on spirits and more on tokens themselves (and a handful of go-tall zags like Hero of Bretagard. Though I've yet to invest in an Anointed Procession, it is perhaps only a matter of time.

Pet card: Secret Lair printing of Regal Caracal because I'm not running a cats deck and eager to find other places for those cards. Here it can be flickered like Geist-Honored Monk (the other pet card as one of my first foils in Magic) as a redundancy option for Ranar (that's still cheaper than recasting him).

Note: "Korean" cards aren't actually Korean; I've just flagged the cards that overlap with my Millicent, Restless Revenant deck (in addition to a few other overlaps they also share 95% of a mana base).
