This is a slight variation from the near cedh list of akiri bruse that i had worked on last year. It uses a lot of the same concepts, only difference is where you play the deck. This deck is made for high power metas where the game will end between turns 5-7 typically, but not cedh. I find that the main difference is that the amount of removal in high power is typically much lower than cedh and people try to be much more proactive in the high power setting. This deck seeks to have interaction to slow down other high power decks with things like Thalia and winter orb. I have played this deck with tons of spot removal in the past, but its just hard to 1 for 1 everything so ive switched to a bit more staxy approach.

Lets talk about Moltensteel Dragon. Its straight up dirty in this deck. I killed a table in 5 turns with once because no one had early removal. There were also numerous mana rocks involved but this deck runs a lot of fast mana so its not impossible to recreate. But yeah you pump a lethal amount of life into moltensteel with bruse's lifelink double strike trigger so you gain the life right back. Its a risky so make sure people are tapped out, or that you have some protection available with Grand Abolisher being the best option. Immolating Souleater can do the same thing however it doesnt have evasion built in naturally which means its a little worse as the game goes on since you'll need an evasion equipment.

Next lets talk about Winter Orb. It makes the combo decks cry salty tears since they usually dont have that much in play and spend 5-6 turns ramping and setting up. 6 or 7 power on akiri early with some trample or flying is usually good enough to ahve a winning position and then you drop winter orb. Sword of Feast and Famine and Neheb, the Eternal help make this a mostly one sided effect. I dont run it but ghirapur aethergrid is certainly a consideration. Its probably better for cedh where theres mostly low toughness creatures running around, but as things get to 3 and 4 toughness its harder to use, but i dont know maybe i need to test it out. I dont currently run Static Orb since I have found it just a little bit harder to break partiy, but it also locks opponents harder since mana rocks and mana dorks are a thing, maybe i need to test with it again. I do use Goblin Engineer as a way to tutor for winter orb. I will say that if you arent using to play under winter orb and static orb, its a bit skill testing so you might have to play a few games with it to get it right.

Anyway thats the main idea. Evasion is probably one of the most important thing to look for on your equipments since both commanders get chumped very easily. That makes cards like Key to the City and Manifold Key very valuable especially since they have other purposes, one to loot and one to untap tome of legends.
