The penchant for sacrifice has not subsided after all these years...

Sacrifice is the name of the game.

Creatures, Lands and Artifacts that can self-sacrifice and provide +1 counters are one of the main threads of the deck.

+1 counters are obviously a strong aim of the deck - A pumped up Mazirek or swarm of creature tokens on steroids can be a nice game winner.

The life gain/drain is a byproduct of the sacrifice, as is the forced sacrifice of other creatures.

There is a small sub theme of treasure tokens - they are great fuel for the pump with the byproduct of mana generation (always useful).

The game plan is to generate tokens, play Mazirek, sac stuff and win. Its very simple.
