I prefer Black in Standard and am trying to keep it mono, but also like Golgari and Rakdos.

As for EDH, Black and Green is where I began and would like to stay. Although I have been dabbling with a B/W life gain life drain deck. Also hoping to make a mono Black deck when I can decide on a Commander...
