Interesting build. Mayael was my second commander, after a short stint with Uril, and she remains one of my favorites to date.

I run 40 creatures in mine and find that allows me to hit more consistently with Mayael. Ojer Kaslem, Deepest Growth  Flip is great because you can both find it with Mayael or use it as a secret commander if she doesn't stick to the board.

I would definitely include Selvala's Stampede, it is one of the best cards in my list and has won me many games. Another favorite of mine is Lurking Predators.

Other cards I feel suit Mayael theme very well are See the Unwritten and Last March of the Ents.

Including the modal lands, or Pathways, would allow you to lose slow or janky lands like Jetmir's Garden, Dryad Arbor or Reflecting Pool.

I hope some of this is helpful. Here is my version for inspiration, your comments are welcome!

Woehrlebird, I delete decks often, so you should copy it if you are interested.

Ramp the is good with Lumra: Lotus Field Harrow Roiling Regrowth Springbloom Druid

Support for Lumra: Panharmonicon Amulet of Vigor

To help shuffle your graveyard back into your deck after you milled too much: Kozilek, Butcher of Truth Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre

The rest is optimized good stuff: landfall and cheating cards in with Apex Devastator, Ghalta, Stampede Tyrant and Last March of the Ents.

Also, Monogreen mass haste: Surrak and Goreclaw Concordant Crossroads

Alright, I've made some changes based on some recent thoughts I've had about this deck, some cards I've been meaning to add + I've incorporated a few of your good suggestions Profet93, cheers:

In:

  • Ancient Tomb
  • Garruk's Uprising
  • Heroic Intervention
  • Kenrith's Transformation
  • Last March of the Ents
  • Monster Manual
  • Return of the Wildspeaker
  • Sanctum of Ugin
  • Thought Vessel
  • Tribute to the World Tree

  • Out:

  • Archetype of Endurance - I've had success Tooth & Nailing this lad + Platinum Emperion into play for a soft lock, but I agree that the redundancy for the cost is really unnecessary + is not core to the game plan.
  • Dryad Arbor - Kept it in here for that rare but sweet GSZ tutor for turn 1 ramp, but Ancient Tomb is the superior choice by a wide margin, lol.
  • Eldrazi Conscription - Win-more and unnecessary.
  • Endless Atlas - As mentioned, better draw exists in green.
  • Green Sun's Zenith - Removed as my green targets are limited and I think I have enough tutors already.
  • Platinum Emperion - An expensive to cast, unnecessary defense card.
  • Strip Mine - Swapped in Sanctum of Ugin for this. I think the tutor potential might be more handy than land removal.
  • Vorinclex, Voice of Hunger - The douche of all douches, this guy is so expensive and is such a kill on sight boi - because he hoses the whole table & typically just makes me the enemy/target, it usually dies to removal. Like, immediately.
  • World Breaker - Swapped out for the more efficient removal spell, Kenrith's Transformation
  • Zhulodok, Void Gorger - I've had a chance to play this guy a couple times now and he's just too clunky in a non-fully colourless build

  • The average CMC is still atrocious here but that's ok, I think some of these changes will help smooth things out a teensy bit. This is my big dumb stompy funsies deck and I don't necessarily need it to be supremely optimized with the perfect curve etc. I do think the revised ramp, draw & removal suites look a wee bit better after these changes and I'm excited to see how it plays.

Hi, thanks for commenting! Yeah, I've added some of the LotR cardsbut I still need to update here :) How is Last March of the Ents working for you? I miss that one, but the price tag keeps me from picking it up at the moment.

Oh... Hello there. I just want to talk about some experiences with new cards and some returned creatures. Obviously counting with my playgroup as experience.

First of all, I want to talk about how Cavern-Hoard Dragon is absurd. However the original CMC be like 9 mana, it's incredible how easy and powerfull it can be casted in early or midgame, depending of your opponents of course. Can be another ramp source and damage dealer with Old Gnawbone and Ancient Copper Dragon. In my case, I switched Immersturm Predator for it, because Predator hardly can take care of your battlefield without a creature, or even if your oponent manages to protect their target card in graveyard.

Another change that was added is Last March of the Ents. Almost all dragons have toughness around 4 or more. And this spell was like a finisher, because it cannot be negated, and if you have only a dragon 4/4, it will draw 4 cards for you and drop any number of creatures from your hand to battlefield. It's absolutely insane. I changed O-Kagachi, Vengeful Kami for this. I feel this dragon still powerfull, but it's just a target of Tiamat effect, and now we have new powerfull choices to use. Not to mention the need to have haste to give O-Kagachi full potention.

Well, another choices to add or remove that I did: Thrakkus the Butcher -> Klauth, Unrivaled Ancient (Thrakkus was realy unneeded, because swing with my dragons basically end games, just with their original powers. Klauth provides mana correction and ramp based in my dragon's attacks) Greater Good -> Ancient Gold Dragon (This change was more a test than anything, but AGD provides a good sinergy with Last March of Ents, Scourge of Valkas, Terror of Peaks, and creates good blockers. I realy liked the change).

Mana base: I use now all the fetch lands, shock, some triomas and some goodstuffs to ramp and filter cards in the deck.

Maybe, just maybe... Delighted Halfling? Just thinking...

Well, this is just a report of tests and changes in my deck, because is very similar of yours. I want to know how is your opinion about, and what think could be useful or not to us, the biggest dragon deck users of TappedOut hahaha And I want to contribute more here, so that's it... See ya
