Greetings my fellow intellectuals! So, you're looking to join the most powerful scientific force this side of the multiverse? Then look no further than the Izzet League! In the guild where the logical methods of blue mana combine with the chaotic principles of red mana, you will learn such skills as:

Setting things on fire!Setting OTHER things on fire!Creating unnatural creatures composed entirely from highly unstable elements mixed together willy-nilly!Conduct epic experiments (only 50% of which may result in blowing yourself up)!And many, many more!

So join today! Your first Electromancy course is free!

So, as you may have guessed by now, I'm a big fan of the Izzet League. This deck is based on my very first edh deck. Originally the general was Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind but when the Return to Ravnica block produced it's third set, Dragon's Maze, I immediately picked up Melek, Izzet Paragon and remodeled the deck to better suit this new general.

Combos: Infinite and Otherwise

Enter the Infinite + Omniscience - I'm positive I'm not the only one who, upon seeing ETI spoiled thought of Omniscience. Being able to cast your entire deck means the possibilities are literally endless. Add in an Elixir of Immortality to recycle all your spells for even more fun. One may also add Grapeshot after amassing a huge storm count to deal a death blow.

Enter the Infinite + Master the Way - With most of your deck in your hand, Master the Way should be able to deal sufficient damage to KO any opponent in one blow.

Omniscience + Petals of Insight + Grapeshot - Infinite damage grapshot combo kill. Drop Omniscience then cast Petals of Insight , placing the cards on the bottom of your library and returning it to your hand. Repeat until your storm count is high enough to KO all opponents or until they concede instead of making you play out the combo.

Isochron Scepter + Sphinx-Bone Wand - Because IS says that you cast the copies of whatever spell you've imprinted, Sphinx-Bone Wand will receive a charge counter on every activation of the Scepter.

Honorable mentions:

Guttersnipe - Dishes out the pain.

Talrand, Sky Summoner - Makes an army of 2/2 fliers.

Spelltwine - It's the best 2 spell in both your graveyard and your opponent's.

Epic Experiment - When it doesn't whiff, it's amazingly fun.
