Edgar Markov: Lord of the Eternal Horde

A Vampire tribe deck built with the help of Gardius
Freely inspired by Edgar Markov's Vampire Horde [Primer]

This deck aims to be an aggro initial-midrange style. Compared to a pure aggro-rush deck, it will take some extra turns to set its board.

Edgar Markov commander's goal is to fill the board with a lot of big fat vampires who will attack as soon as possible, so the battlefield could turn into its favor.

Edgar Markov is the real engine of the entire deck. He's able to act from the very beginning, just staying in the commander zone: every time you cast a vampire, Markov adds you an extra Vampire token 1/1.

The simple rules are:

  1. Cast a vampire;
  2. Add the extra vampire;
  3. Try to fat your creatures with some magics;
  4. Attack like there's no tomorrow;
  5. The day is up, YOU ARE A VAMPIRE! Go to bed. Pass.

MORE POWER

  • Bloodline Keeper   is a flying 3/3; he can flip and become a fat 5/5 who givs +2/+2 to all of the vampires. Yeah, and if you tap him, he calls a 2/2 lad vampire to the battlefield.
  • Captivating Vampire gives +1/+1 to all of the vampire... and, as a side option, you can tap 5 vampires to take control of an enemy creature: not so bad!
  • Stromkirk Captain gives +1/+1 _to all of the vampires and, why not, first _strike.
  • Metallic Mimic gives +1/+1 to all of the vampires.
  • Legion Lieutenant gives +1/+1 to all of the vampires.

ENDING THE GAME

In the remote and shadowed land of Stensia, Innistrad, Edgar Markov reigns as the progenitor of vampires, the patriarch of his house, and the first to discover the dark path to immortality through an ancient pact. Edgar’s thirst for blood is not that of a solitary predator; his true power lies in his ability to create an army of vampires. With blood magic mastered millennia ago, each time a new vampire emerges, others answer the call, drawn from the shadows to quench their insatiable thirst.

His legion includes powerful and cunning creatures: from the fierce Bloodline Keeper  , capable of transforming into a dark overlord to empower his progeny, to the sinister Captivating Vampire, who can control enemy creatures with mere willpower, enthralling even the mightiest foes. Beside them stand champions of darkness like Malakir Bloodwitch and Drana, Liberator of Malakir, who unleash chaos upon their enemies without mercy.

The mystical relics in this deck, such as the Throne of the God-Pharaoh and Cover of Darkness, amplify Edgar’s horde, enabling devastating assaults. Each vampire adds to the collective strength, and each battle won further fortifies House Markov, whose thirst for power and blood knows no bounds. Edgar, with his ancient might, leads this ruthless horde, echoing an ancient promise: in Innistrad, the eternal night belongs to the vampires.

It's a powerful and fun to play deck for those who love vampires and want to have fun with some friends or people who play casual.

If you have no budget, I will not suggest you to start with this decklist: it will cost you ~350€ (~380$).
