Locust God: the mightiest wheeler dealer in town

Commander / EDH Midrange Theme/Gimmick Tokens UR (Izzet) Value Engine

Elmalco

The Locust God at the helm... Draw to produce flying insects with haste and hit people in the face with a swarm.

1) Get Locust God to stick around - cast him with flash using Winding Canyons, Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir, Leyline of Anticipation, Vedalken Orrery or give him hexproof with Lightning Greaves, Swiftfoot Boots.

2) Get a draw engine online - Coastal Piracy, Bident of Thassa, Arjun, the Shifting Flame, card:Skull Clamp (paired with Ashnod's Altar or Phyrexian Altar), Teferi's Puzzle Box. Intruder Alarm! (paired with once of the looting creatures creates an infinite draw loop). Finally Rhystic Study or Nezahal, Primal Tide.

3) Payoffs - Only one for drawing directly (if you want to deal damage try a Niv-Mizzet, Parun deck list) is Psychosis Crawler, for creatures ETB Purphoros, God of the Forge, Impact Tremors. With one of the Altars and Outpost Siege you can sac your creatures to ping people or just use Goblin Bombardment (useful for creature removal too). Create big creature threats with Toothy, Imaginary Friend and card:Chasum Skulker (both have good payoffs when they die). Finally discarding cards (from wheels, looting and Mind Over Matter) with Glint-Horn Buccaneer on the battlefield.

4) Big draw turns - Use the wheels on creaturs like deck: Whirlpool Rider, Whirlpool Warrior or spells like Windfall, Winds of Change to maximise on payoffs. Use big draw spells like Mind Spring and Recurring Insight before a wheel. Use big ramp spells like Mana Geyser and High Tide to have explosive turns to pull ahead or close out games.

5) When things are going bad - Plenty of removal like Blasphemous Act, Aether Gale to reset the parity. Graveyard shuffle effects to refuel library if its running low like Time Reversal, Echo of Eons.

6) Become arch enemy - Narset, Parter of Veils and wheel the table.
