Kodama's West Tree

So far I've been trying to balance a lot aspects of this deck with it's self. Though it has a lot of balls in the air it seems to be playing well at the power level I want it: higher casual/7ish but sometimes can play at an 8.

The idea is: go small, then wide, then tall

Game Stages

This is about the set up for Kodama of the West Tree to hit the field: get a modified creature on the feild and have some way to protect Kodama ready.

The best scenario for this is turn 3 and the goal is at least turn 4.

Hopefully at this point there's a roll to the deck. I've got a few ways to give death touch to take advantage of the trample/deathtouch ruling, quite a few scaling creatures, and a small landfall theme to play in this part of the game.

Some good cards I want to see at this point are: Evolution Sage, Kalonian Hydra, Ohran Frostfang

A good ol' smash face win for the finish here. Some Overwhelming Stampede like abilities and big "say no" creatures to try to wrap the thing up before someone combos off.

One card I want to try out is Awaken the Woods, seems like the etbs and ramp would be a pretty fun way to wrap up a game.

Gameplay

The modifications are mostly +1/+1 focused with some protection equipment and enchantments in there. I'm using a lot of hydra like creatures to play to the early and mid game. It seems to work pretty well but most the hydras are kind of meh mid-late game so I'm kind of hoping the supporting cards will be enough to hold them up.

The original idea was to use landfall as the main theme and I've tried to keep a little of that in here, though I'm not quite sold on Rampaging Baloths in this deck. Should it make the cut?

Like any deck of mine it is a work in progress so if you can think of something that will help it out don't hesitate to post, I'd love to hear what you have to say!

Side Notes

Here's the Deathtouch/Trample ruling for those who don't know:

If a creature with Deathtouch and Trample hits a blocker, the attacker only has to deal leathal damage (1dmg) to each blocker before going on to the defending players health.
