Maybeboard

Temur Ferocious themed creature storm deck. The deck's plan is to ramp, play good creatures with power 4 or greater, draw cards because we played those creatures and repeat. It wins by having the biggest smashiest board it can and hitting the opponents until they are dead.

Now, this deck has a bit of an interesting history. Initially, it was built to be led by the technically-not-legal-as-a-commander Shaman of the Great Hunt. I just really love the card, it has a cool templating to give it Temur color identity, and at the time of the deck's creation it was a solid payoff for going ferocious. Additionally, I was going through a it of a "rule 0" deck themes phase and thought building a deck that doesn't use a legend as a commander is a good way to get the conversation started.

However, I quickly found out that the Shaman just didn't make a great commander (or at least the build of the deck wasn't working great) so I decided to try running the alternate combo I already had in the deck (in case anyone wasn't cool with a non-legendary commander) of Kodama of the East Tree + Kraum, Ludevic's Opus . This pairing worked fabulously because it's difficult to play Kodama and not end up with a massive board. I stuck with this commander configuration for a while because it made the deck fun to play.

When Eshki, Temur's Roar came out, I knew it would fit into the 99 (or 98 in this case) nicely as a card draw engine alongside many of the other similar effects that draw cards off of playing big creatures. However, it also meant that there was a legit Temur commander with a strong ferocious payoff. So, I decided to give her a try in the command zone. I'll need to get more in-game experience, but from playtesting I think she provides a fun alternate experience to that of the partner pair that is also more in line with the themes of the original deck designed around Shaman.

With all these changes in the command zone (something that does not happen very frequently in my armada of decks) and the deck being built more around a theme than a commander I have decided to keep all three options available to be the commander in any given game. This is somewhat similar to what you can do with most precon decks.

In my limited experience I would rank the commanders going from least to most powerful options as Shaman - Eshki - Kraum & Kodama. This deck lives in bracket 3 but it is nice to be able to somewhat tailor the play experience based on the other decks or players at the table.
