An EDH deck should be a little slice of you. Your preferred colours, your play style, a theme you like, etc. Me? I love the flavor of fish. Zegana, Commander of the Sea was my very first EDH/Commander deck and has since been dismantled for parts now used in Deforestation and Time Keeps 'Dragon' On.

The ocean-dwelling Merfolk are not to be trifled with! Their support of each other and the sea as a whole make them a force to be reckoned with. With Thassa's blessing, their leader Prime Speaker Zegana may call forth the power of mighty sea monsters to draw upon overwhelming knowledge that is hidden in the deep sea.

So the main idea is to beef up my merfolk and sea monsters with +1/+1s (some of these +1/+1s are counters). Almost every creature in the deck has islandwalk or unblockable. If they don't have those abilities then there are multiple other cards that can give them those abilities. Islandwalk is fully utilized by turning my opponents' lands into islands. After dropping a fatty or beefing up my merfolk enough, it's time to drop Prime Speaker Zegana for massive card advantage.
