Maybeboard

This deck is bad and I can't, in good conscience, recommend building it. You're probably better off building cool commanders like Urza or Baral like those other nice blue players. Clearly you've made an error stumbling across this obscure, psychedelic looking frog that looks like it wants to steal your soul.

Tomorrow, Azami's Familiar is a very interesting card. When i first saw it I was struck by how good the art was, but as I pondered it's ability I became enamored with it. I wanted to take this obscure Kamigawa block legend and build a deck around it. What originally started as a combo deck quickly morphed into a slug/stax deck. It was largely effective in making my friends miserable, so much so that I immediately became Archenemy when we sat down to play. This has led to this iteration of the deck which is really a hybrid group hug/control/combo deck. Tomorrow's ability provides great value no matter what style of deck you decide to build around him.

So you wanna make friends?

The hug aspect of this deck revolves around letting every player at the table have increased card draw. This is a very dangerous proposition for your chances at winning, but more on how we deal with that later. The cards we will use to hopefully secure political capital are Howling Mine, Dictate of Kruphix, Anvil of Bogardan, Font of Mythos, Temple Bell, Jace Beleren, Minds Aglow and Kami of the Crescent Moon. Each of these cards will allow your opponent's to draw more cards. I don't recommend casting Minds Aglow before casting your commander unless you really need to dig for an answer. Adding additional cards to each draw phase accelerates your opponents, but with Tomorrow you will provide yourself more value by digging three cards deep for every one that your opponents do. Hopefully you will make your opponents so happy that they won't go after you until it's too late, but what do you do if they decide to not play nice?

I like you but I don't like like you

Your opponents decided to act like the opponents they are, or perhaps your taking preemptive measures. Either way this deck runs multiple cards to slowly hate your opponents board into submission. For creature control we run Pendrell Mists which will devastate token decks and provide great value as you'll likely be paying for 2 creatures or less on average. Torpor Orb will stop creature combo decks in their tracks and will generally cripple good stuff creatures as well. Silent Arbiter will narrow combat significantly. Frozen Aether will slow your opponents down by making their relevant permanents enter tapped. Fatespinner will force your opponents to be selective with their turns. The deck runs nine counterspells, use them selectively.

I want to hold your hand

Now that we've given your opponents all of those extra cards its time for Tomorrow to show his true advantage. We run Uba Mask and Zur's Weirding both of which will effectively neuter your opponent's chances of victory. With Uba Mask on the field our opponents exile their card draw. If they cant use it in the turn its exiled then its exiled for good! Zur's Weirding doesn't provide the exiling effect but any player may 2 life to exile an opponent's drawn card. The trick here is that Tomorrow, Azami's Familiar is a draw replacement effect on a creature! You never technically draw cards when Tomorrow is on the field meaning Mask and Weirding never affect you, only your opponents.

How do I win and other relevant combos

Tomorrow wins through either forcing your opponents to draw out their decks or by drawing out your own deck and winning with either Laboratory Maniac or Jace, Wielder of Mysteries. This can be accomplished with either of the following combos: Mind Over Matter+Temple Bell or Mind Over Matter+Arcanis the Omnipotent.

You can also generate insane value off of Forced Fruition+Consecrated Sphinx although in my experience Forced Fruition draws removal very quickly.

I hope you enjoyed my little primer on one of my favorite little known Generals in Tomorrow, Azami's Familiar. The deck is quite fun to play. I appreciate any comments or suggestions to improve the list as long as it doesn't take away any of the deck's core elements.
