People often say politicians are beasts, and in this case, well it's true. Helmed by Gahiji, Honored One , this deck aims to crank up the Commander political shenanigans to 11. First and foremost, Gahiji's ability exist to entice opponents to attack (read: backstab. Et tu Brute?!) each other with pumped up critters. If that isn't incentive enough, cards like Rite of the Raging Storm , Disrupt Decorum , or Crown of Doom can do the trick. Maximizing political shenanigans also means using Selvala, Explorer Returned for Parlay (combos very well with Mind's Eye ), Collective Voyage for massive ramp (and making friends), and Selvala's Stampede for voting and hopefully closing the game. If my opponents' boards start to look a little too threatening, however, Nacatl War-Pride , Balefire Dragon , or Tragic Arrogance can keep things in check. But lo, what would Commander politics be without the terribly fun Monarch mechanic? Throne of the High City and Regal Behemoth can kick off the ball. Finally, this deck runs both Cat and Squirrel tribal themes, just because I felt like it.
