Hazezon's Raiders

Commander / EDH

KaijuSplicer

Hazezon Tamar has always been one of my favorite cards. I find his somewhat weird ability leads to fun, interesting interactions throughout the game. If built correctly, I think a Hazezon Tamar deck can have a threatening presence at all but the most cutthroat of tables.I will constantly be updating the list as I tweak/ upgrade it. I'm building this deck in a somewhat competitive meta-game. So I am not really planning on holding much back in regards to power level. If that is not for you, I encourage you to play around with Hazezon. His abilities quirks allow some insanely fun combos and interactions.

Down to strategy: The over all strategy of this deck is to ramp into threats. Pretty simple right? Hazezon is a massive threat in and of himself. But is even better with something like Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite and Ogre Battledriver on the field. So your focus should be on playing threats at opportune times, making sure to play around and remove other threats as you go.

Hazezon is worst when he is on the field. Your goal in most games should be to cast Hazezon for his trigger- then somehow abuse his ETB multiple times before sacrificing him. You have done poorly with your turn if Hazezon is on your field come your next upkeep. Often times, it is better to not cast Hazezon at all if you do not have a sacrifice outlet.

Examples of Sacrifice outlets in the deck:

Perilous Forays

Ashnod's Altar

Goblin Bombardment

All of this is fairly preliminary- So TO BE CONTINUED......
