Enchantment (1)

Sliver Tribal EDH

Introduction:

Theme: I want this deck to be a competitive(ish) Sliver tribal deck. That means for creatures, slivers only.

One exception: Amoeboid Changeling 's synergy with Sliver Overlord is so strong that it would be absurd to ignore the little guy.

Commander Options: (or: "Why Sliver Overlord is Objectively the Best for Sliver Tribal")

Overlord is the best Sliver Tribal commander as far as I can tell.

Sliver Queen is an awesome creature with a lot of synergies and makes for an amazing addition to this deck. However as a commander she just doesn't make the cut, this is first and foremost a Sliver Tribal deck, not a 5-Colour Combo deck.

Sliver Legion makes for a lacklustre commander given that it can only really let you "win more," I prefer the capacity to tutor up for any sliver, including Sliver Legion.

Sliver Hivelord has seen some compelling arguments in its favour; namely that slivers getting destroyed is a fast way to lose temp; and I am willing to try it out as my commander once I get my hands on a copy. However, I am skeptical that being indestructible is more useful than being able to tutor up responses to whatever the game-state may be.

Sliver Overlord's abilities ultimately give the flexibility of getting me the what I need to push and respond to the state of the board; whether I may need mana fixing, Artifact & Enchantment removal, Evasion, or something else. That all of this comes in the form of slivers makes for the powerful and adaptable commander I want, while fitting with the very cool theme that is the Sliver Tribe.

Deck Tech: Synergies and The Infinite

Synergy: It should be apparent from a quick glance at a few sliver creatures to see the overwhelming intra-tribal synergy; with each sliver buffing itself and all others.

Sliver Overlord with either Amoeboid Changeling or Unnatural Selection means the opponents creatures will be under our control in no time! Essentially we have a recurring Control Magic on a stick.

Darksteel Ingot + Harmonic Sliver Prevents my hands from being tied should I have needed naturalize on a stick but no longer have any targets on my opponents field. (The effect is not optional, so something must be targeted)

Heartstone + Training Grounds has synergy with creatures across the board and most importantly with our commander.

Infinite Engine: Sliver Queen is an absolute combo machine, requiring very little to go infinite.

Three-Piece Hatchery: Sliver Queen + either Heartstone or Training Ground + Basal Sliver = Infinite Sliver Tokens

Approaching Perfection: Sliver Queen + Mana Echoes = Infinite Sliver Tokens AND Infinite Mana

This latter combo is obviously much easier to set up than the former combo as it requires only two pieces, and it's far better not only for this, but also for the dual rewards of infinite tokens AND infinite mana.

Sadly I haven't yet been able to acquire a copy of Mana Echoes ; my LGS has been barren and has generally been slim pickings as far as my needs for this deck goes.
