Such Violence.

At long last, version 11! It's been a very long time, (months and months), but I have finally gotten around to updating this deck to (very nearly) its completion! This deck has been played hundreds of times and I have worn through several sleeve sets trying to contain the power therin! I highly recommend this deck for your enjoyment, I have played this deck hundreds of ways and each and every victory is refreshingly unique. THIS DECK NEVER GETS OLD.

If you have any suggestions, please keep in mind that most of these cards have been very, very specifically chosen from an incredibly massive selection of cards and any suggestions need to have a good reason behind them. And by massive, I mean literally every single black enchantment and artifact out there have already been considered. (This deck's has become competitive with ease) The purpose of the deck is to bleed the life from everyone, with sufficient amount of tutors to pull what you need exactly when you need it without feeling like that one blue player that always tutors for more counters or Cyclonic Rift. In fact, tutoring is critical for this deck, as you need to be very good at predicting the future. You need to have your artifacts in place before they do whatever it is people do.

There is an immense amount of synergy in this deck, AND NONE OF IT GOES INFINITE (please people, you look like a bunch of children when you do). The end result is to have people be drained of life due to dozens of enchantments, drain effects and political manipulation. Erebos ensures that you never want for cards (He's friendly that way), and the mana ramp is sufficient to continue to drown everyone and everything in enchantments, the historically most difficult to remove cards.

Deck Tech:

EVERYONE BLEEDS MECHANIC: Erebos, God of the Dead, Jailor of Theros, Guardian of Nyx and Pimp Slapper of Scrubs, does not differentiate you over everyone else.. In the end, everyone ends up in the Underworld. For this very reason, the most important mechanic of this deck is your life total, more so than in other games. While you might have been his friend, know that the power he delegated you (being followerless) is bizarrely different from any spells you might have cast before.

With every enchantment you cast, you often times will need to spend some time predicting the future, turn by turn. Since this deck naturally has accumulated wealth as a byproduct, you need to make sure you cast exactly what you need WHEN you need it. THIS DECK IS NOT FOR NEWER OR SQUEAMISH PLAYERS. You will, by design, be very low on life when you win. It's often intended. Fix it with Repay in Kind or Mirror Universe . To counteract this, there are numerous options for extreme life gain, and more so for mana ramp. Planeswalkers who want to master this style of casting will need to monitor their life total very closely. Younger planeswalkers will likely cast themselves to death, not knowing what to cast and when.

The deck was designed to have every single card in it be able to function well with at least 75% of the rest of the deck. I've seen a few spinoffs since this deck's inception (of which I am flattered that it's gained such popularity) and they feel like they need to add "that one enchantment" that might not be as cohesive as the rest, say, Painful Quandary. While personal flavor is always expected or even encouraged, know that I spent so long playtesting everything to see what will and will not work. However, I still would very much like feedback!

Many of the cards here have effects that the deck itself is immune to, such as Damnation or Decree of Pain. Pestilence, and several others that can be used favorably while killing the other plainswalkers soundly. The fact that Erebos is indestructible alone makes this deck work.

. Almost everything about this card makes it immensely preferable for this style of play. He prevents lifegain, which is the single greatest challenge this deck could be thrown up against. He's indestructible, rendering him immune to boardwipes, a good portion of deck combos, persistent blocking and just overall being intimidating to go against. To top it off, he also offers the other thing which this deck needs, namely card draw. You will never run out of tricks, and with some trickery with Venser's Journal or Ivory Tower , you can definitely gain that life back quickly. Right before the end of your turn, you can dump all of your mana into drawing cards with him, and next turn, the cards you drew will be refunded somewhat.

Kiku, Night's Flower and Maga, Traitor to Mortals are now Erebos' greatest followers! If you feel the need to switch things up, both of these thematically and powerfully performing commanders are good viable options. I recommend you try them out!

Please note that the creature ratio is very carefully regulated. Wantonly adding in creatures does not a deck make, and these members of the Cult of Erebos help facilitate various effects that are needed to function.

Please leave suggestions! (And serious ones. This is to be a creature reliantless deck, remember.)

Deck is currently version 11.0. It can be abbr. as EGOAOTOTAE if needed.

The deck is primarily classified as: Group Punch, Forcefeed, Monoblack, Creatureless, Battlecruiser, Enchantment tribal style deck.

The deck is NOT Pillowfort. Rather, it punishes people from attacking but does not prohibit it.
