Bolas and the All-New Superfriends Hour

Commander / EDH Superfriends UBR (Grixis)

praetor605

With all the planeswalkers released during War of the Spark, superfriends decks are all the rage. However, the star of the hour (Atraxa, obviously) cannot play the most fun card from the set: Nicol Bolas, Dragon-God . This, along with The Elderspell , really pushed me towards a Grixis PW deck despite it lacking white and green.

This deck aims to land some planeswalkers on the field and begin to populate them. We have a few that generate some blockers, some that draw cards, and others that remove threats. Ideally, with a few out we can populate our way up to an ultimate or use The Elderspell for an explosive turn. We have tools to control the board, such as Cyclonic Rift , Nevinyrral's Disk , Crux of Fate , and Blasphemous Act . If we are ahead, we can also "be that person" and cast Jokulhaups to blow up everyones lands and tick up our planeswalkers in peace.

There is some solid synergy in the deck, especially with The Chain Veil - Tezzeret the Seeker - and an Everflowing Chalice that can tap for 4 mana.

Want to play planeswalkers, especially fun Nicol Bolas cards? Grixis just might provide the answer.
