I call this deck "Sliver Shivers" because I first started playing Slivers as a new MTG player with the Legions "Sliver Shivers" pre-con deck... and I've been hooked ever since. My Sliver deck has evolved over the years, eventually adding red and black to the green/white/blue pre-con deck that I started with. What I have here is the current iteration, and while I am constantly tweaking the deck it is competitive as it sits.

As with most five color decks, one of the challenges with Slivers is mana. Early game my sole strategy is to ramp and get Overlord out by turn five. Then, I can tutor Slivers based on the situation I'm in and start to form a win con...

Playing against blue? Play Root Sliver and your Slivers can no longer be countered. Playing against flying? No problem, there are multiple ways to give Slivers flying. Playing against removal decks? Play Sliver Hivelord to give your creatures indestructible.

With Manaweft and Gemhide Sliver out, I can efficiently tutor for all the Slivers I need, and there are multiple ways to develop plenty of mana to cast Sliver Queen and overwhelm your opponents with Sliver tokens. A well-cast Sliver Legion will drastically enhance the power of all your Sliver creatures, and tutoring for Shifting Sliver virtually makes your creatures unblockable.

I can go on and on about Slivers, but the main reason I love playing with this deck is it's insanely versatile. I can hang with competitive decks and at the same time I can turn the dial down when playing in a less competitive play group.
