Knightly Valor

Enchantment — Aura

Enchant creature

When Knightly Valor enters the battlefield, put a 2/2 white Knight creature token with vigilance onto the battlefield. (Attacking doesn't cause it to tap)

Enchanted creature gets +2/+2 and has vigilance.

Knightly Valor Discussion

You also seem to have three different ideas competing for space here. You want the life gain + Resplendent Angel Combo to work for you, you want Knight Exemplar to come out with Day of Judgment, and you're playing both angels and knights, each of which is only half your creature base (Lyra Dawnbringer only boosts the angels, while History of Benalia only benefits your knights). These are strong on their own, but aren't acting cohesively.

Also, I know that Shalai, Voice of Plenty prevents your opponent from interacting with your fancy dudes, but you're not using the handy green-related ability.

I recommend making a choice: go all knights (with minor angelic support... Sigarda, Heron's Grace?), or go stronger into angels.

If knights: consider Sigiled Sword of Valeron, Novice Knight, Valiant Knight, Knightly Valor, and Lena, Selfless Champion. There's a ton of other knights out there that are also worth including.

If angels: Call To Serve and a whole lot more removal spells (keep killing their low-level threats until you can get good angels out to defend yourself). Pull the knight-specific cards (but keep ones that still boost angels, like Benalish Marshal).

Here are the changes I would go with:

Ladies and Gentleman: Before you is a fine example of why the "Troll" creature type gets Regenerate.
(Hrm, there's an idea. There are 27 Trolls in the game, only two of which don't have Regenerate. I might be able to do something with that!)

Once again, you're looking at things from an extremely narrow and ultimately blind point of view. Auramancer is Common to encourage the use of Auras, as it is a readily available tool. Printing it at a higher rarity would deter players from using it.

Auramancers was last printed in a full set in Magic Origins, which had 12 Auras in it. Four of which were white - Grasp of the Hieromancer, Knightly Valor, Murder Investigation, and Suppression Bonds. Of those, Auramancer synergizes best with Murder Investigation due to the requirement of a dead creature, and with Suppression Bonds to help re-lock a creature after the card is removed.

Oh, and I'll let other people express their disappointment in your opinion of Commander. They can do that so much better than I, as I don't particularly care for it either, but I'm not going to demean it for that. It's a part of the game, and I have to accept it for that.

Yes, I'm the mana screwed guy lol. If you're trying to cut back on cards, I would start with Knightly Valor and Conviction. Valor doesn't do much for your gameplan and is expensive, and Conviction pumps up toughness, which isn't much of a boost for lifelink creatures. You also may want to consider replacing War Oracle with Gisela, the Broken Blade. You have one more power plus built in evasion.

Cards I think could easily be cut:

Web- worst of the reach cards

Auramancer- Better options, see below

Heliod's Emissary- not worth the mana

Nyxborn Rollicker- not useful

Restoration Specialist-have to sacrifice only hits single one

Angelic Gift- flying worse than anything else, draw is unnecessary

Brilliant Halo- nice recursion, but not that great

Eternal Warrior- doesn't do enough to include

Forced Adaptation- too slow

Gift of the Woods- too niche, point is to not be blocked

Instill Energy- haste is eh, untap is basically vigilance, not really necessary

Knightly Valor- CMC too high

Mammoth Umbra-

Ordeal of Purphoros- slow for what it does

Regeneration, Savage Silhouette, Serpent Skin, Trollhide- Most wraths get around the regeneration anyway, you can afford to lose anyone to spot removal except your commander... which is already hexproof.

Venomous Fangs- your chump blockers don't need it, Uril's gonna be huge already

Vigilance- not enough in this deck

The Three Vows- Irrelevant as they can still block your guys. Maybe one if you do a lot of multiplayer.

Nyxborn Shieldmate

Entangler- high CMC

Vigilant Martyr- same issues with regeneration, at the very least replace with Dawn Charm

Venom- meh all around

Open the Vaults- replace with Retether/Second Sunrise

Cards that are on the verge:

Auratouched Mage-higher CMC, but it does open up more expensive auras

Conviction- Better than Brilliant Halo, still not that great

Fists of Ironwood- Superfluous

Hammerhand- meh card

Lifelink- Nice art, unless you're getting a lot of direct damage, not that helpful

Lightform- Looks okay, too many non-creatures though

Murder Investigation

Oath of the Ancient Wood- Faster than the ordeal cards, no other benefits though

Shape of the Wiitigo, Shield of the Oversoul, Hyena Umbra, Glaring Aegis- You have to cut something

Indrik Umbra-Keep if you can find something else to go easily.

Cards you should consider adding:

Retether- Bodiless Auramancer but better

Second Sunrise- Get passed their wrath effects, not a first choice though

Lightning Bolt- Spot removal is nice

Dawn Charm- See above

This feels like it wants to be a token deck with the populate cards you're running, but you don't make much in the way of tokens other than the birds and occasional centaur.

I would lose the blue, it's not doing you any favors here. Along with getting rid of blue, you can feel free to remove Transguild Promenade (as well as the two blue guildgates) in favor of another Selesnya Guildgate if you have one or just more basics. Transguild imo is too slow for 2 color populate deck.

Ethereal Armor is a winner of a card, if you have another one of those, that's what I'd fill the Monastery Siege slot with.

I don't know if you're looking to buy singles or buy into any particular set. It looks like most of your cards came from Return to Ravnica and Gatecrash. So based on that I would check to see if you have any Centaur's Herald or anything else green/white that makes tokens (Knightly Valor, Urbis Protector, even Beckon Apparition).

If you're interested in purchasing singles, I can give you some suggestions that won't break the bank and could help out a deck like this.

What an awesome theme! I love it!I think Riftmarked Knight has the right sort of duality to him.Holy Strength and Unholy Strength, I feel, have a very mirrored and exalted feel to them. You wouldn't be able to put it on most of your creatures, but Edge of the Divinity has that balanced feel to it too.

And now, a joke: Wake the Reflections. But if you put in some things that generate knight tokens, like Gideon's Phalanx, Knightly Valor, or Sorin, Grim Nemesis, you might jst get something out of it :)

Have an awesome day!
