Hello! The Faerie Dominion precon deck and the release of both Tegwyll, Duke of Splendor and Alela, Cunning Conqueror have been deeply inspiring. As a faerie tribe player for years, its been really frustrating to not have a good commander card to build around. Neither Oona, Queen of the Fae nor Alela, Artful Provocateur really encourage the traditional playstyles of Faeries. That is not a problem for these two new commanders.

The new Alela, Cunning Conqueror allows for a more traditional draw/go strategy enabled by the tempo that token generation provides and I intend to build that deck next. Tegwyll, Duke of Splendor however, puts a minor twist on things. He still values the same token based tempo, but can capitalize most on the deaths of your faerie army. This ability to draw cards increases the inherent value of every token you generate for the purposes of offense and defense, but also encourages an aristocrats-esque strategy revolving around sacrifice engines for greater benefits.

So! The goal of this deck is to continuously generate tokens or cast faerie creatures to gain value from entry triggers and then sacrifice them to draw cards, gain life, and deal damage. All while swatting your opponent away with control magic.

This is my first real attempt at aristocrats, so comments are welcome. I do not need to have the best of the best cards in here, but I am still tweaking how many counter spells/kill spells/board wipes/creatures/lands I need. In particular I also wonder about cards like Thoughtseize and Inquisition of Kozilek being impactful? So please share your thoughts if you have them.

Below is my recommendations on playing the deck:

Turn 1: Keep a hand with both colors of mana. Mana rocks for early ramp or engine pieces like Bitterblossom are also nice in your opening hand. This turn would be really good to play Wayfarer's Bauble or Sol Ring. If you don't have either of those, Viscera Seer is nice to secure an early sac engine. If you don't have any of that, but do have Vampiric Tutor then you should tutor up Bitterblossom.

Turn 2: Bitterblossom is your ideal two-drop followed by Obyra, Dreaming Duelist. Otherwise, a mana rock like Thought Vessel, Talisman of Dominance, Dimir Signet, or Arcane Signet are strong options here. So are Blood Artist and Altar of Dementia. Having an early counterspell here is not ideal, but can be worked with.

Turn 3: Ayara, First of Locthwain is strong here if you have triple black. Feywild Visitor is available if you dont have Bitterblossom. Nadier's Nightblade, Ashnod's Altar, Phyrexian Altar, Talion's Messenger, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, and Faerie Bladecrafter could all be cast on your turn if you have them here. It's also strong to hold mana here to cast a flash spell like Brazen Borrower, Vendilion Clique or even a Counterspell or Remand. Now is also the perfect time to cast Demonic Tutor to grab Exquisite Blood.

Turn 4: If you have gotten lucky enough to get mana ramp then it's nice to play a three-drop here while keeping two or more mana up for interaction. Otherwise Sheoldred, the Apocalypse or Tegwyll, Duke of Splendor are your strongest options. Just be careful, Sheoldred is a massive target.

Turn 5: Talion, the Kindly Lord, Alela, Cunning Conqueror, Sower of Temptation, and Faerie Artisans are all situationally very useful now. There is also an infinite mana combo available here as well, using Glen Elendra Archmage, Spark Double, and Phyrexian Altar.

Beseech the Queen should be able to grab anything you're lacking by this stage of the game and Faerie Harbinger could be used to grab Archmage of Echoes, Shadow Puppeteers, or Mistbind Clique.

And lastly, a very late Faerie Formation or overloaded Cyclonic Rift can win the game.

And that's basically it!! Generate tokens, draw, and leach life until you can alpha strike and win... or until you out-tempo and bleed them dry!!. Tell me your thoughts down below.
