This deck focuses on combat tricks revolving around Volrath's shapeshifting ability, and clone effects in general. It excels at closing out games on wounded enemies, and can have incredibly resistant board states through hexproof creatures.

Fun Tricks with Volrath

Clones - Volrath's shapeshifting is a copiable value! If you copy him when he's a Cold Eyed Selkie, the clone is permanently a 7/5 selkie with his shapechanging ability!

Self-replicating Creatures - Spawnwrithe, Bramble Sovereign, and Myr Propagator are great at getting additional Volrath'd clones. Spawnwrithe can easily start growing exponentially even without other cards if anyone does not have blockers.

Viridian Joiner / Heronblade Elite - Massive mana dorks! Clone em to ramp massively.

Hexproof & Unblockable - Numerous hexproof and unblockable creatures will let you keep your board safe while swinging for dangerous amounts.

Infect - The classic, now with an increased power level.

Combat Tricks - Swing with an unblockable creature, and then right before damage is applied swap to Infect or some other creature that benefits from landing a hit.

Generous Patron - Easy card draw that scales incredibly well with infect.

Brokkos, Apex of Forever - Backup commander that can be played from the graveyard to do similar things to Volrath.
