Gameplay

This deck is full of creatures with powerful enters-the-battlefield effects that you want to trigger over and over with your commander, Emiel the Blessed. Among the best ETB cards are Avenger of Zendikar, Hornet Queen, Meteor Golem, Stonehorn Dignitary and Sun Titan. Keep finding the creatures you need by flickering Fierce Empath and Woodland Bellower, or draw a card each time you flicker anything with Soul of the Harvest. Champion of Lambholt is a great card to have in play while you flicker your other creatures - not only will it grow bigger and bigger, but as it does it becomes increasingly more difficult for your opponents to block!

The deck also features a sub-theme involving +1/+1 counters. Emiel is obviously good at giving your creatures counters, as is the deck's alternate commander, Shalai, Voice of Plenty. Increase your counters even more with cards such as Conclave Mentor, Good-Fortune Unicorn, Primeval Protector, and Cathars' Crusade. And take advantage of the counters with cards such as Rishkar, Peema Renegade, Inspiring Call and Jiang Yanggu, Wildcrafter.
