Breya's Benevolent Brotherhood

Commander / EDH Exile Partner

ThoreaulyRed

Maybeboard

Yet another deck of mine themed off of playing from exile, like my Bell Borca deck and my Obeka decks, which you can see:

Here: Borca's Blue Bells , which is Boros

And here: Stop The Clock! , which is Grixis

This is 4 colors. Breya is officially the commander, but not really: note that I'm using every partner pair in the non-Green color spectrum. This is so you can use a different pair each game, much like my Saskia deck, which you can read about here: Partnership is Power . This wiil give you a different game style each time. There's also multiple backgrounds to capitalize on two commanders: Passionate Archaeologist, Far Traveler, and Candlekeep Sage. All three are complementary to the deck as a whole, but Passionate Archeologist is the most synergistic.

There's a lot of incentive to play from exile, and many ways to do it. Your exile payoffs:

Vhal, Candlekeep Researcher Nalfeshnee Prosper, Tome-Bound Vega, the Watcher Nassari, Dean of Expression Bell Borca, Spectral Sergeant Passionate Archaeologist Laelia, the Blade Reforged

Your exilers: Robber of the Rich Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer Eruth, Tormented Prophet Dream Devourer Jacob Hauken, Inspector   Valakut Exploration Allure of the Unknown Florian, Voldaren Scion Parallel Thoughts Elkin Lair Kami of Celebration Scroll Rack

In addition to some of the pay-offs, such as Bell Borca, Laelia, and Prosper. There's also a number of blink effects, though as I despise ETB triggers, the deck doesn't take huge advantage of them.

Should you play this deck? Probably not if winning is the sole goal. There's precious little interaction. It can snowball well, and there's a great many interactions within the deck, though I've deliberately tried to not have infinite loops, though of course any deck involving Breya is always at risk of having those.

If playing Vizier format, Dakkon is your vizier, who has some synergy with the artifact sub-theme and, while you wouldn't use him to exile your own things, he does exile.

Also, I have no idea why TappedOut is saying all those cards from Baldur's Gate are forbidden in Commander Rule 0. As such, I've designated this as Commander, and because that requires 100 cards, I've wound up removing some basic lands. You'll need an Island, a Mountain, and an additional 1 each of two basics.

Cards that are in for mostly thematic reasons: Armix, Filigree Thrasher has some synergy with the deck, but is mostly in because Breya made him, and is worked on by Silas in his art. Misthollow Griffin and Squee, the Immortal can always be played from exile, but are not terribly synergistic otherwise.

What is the most synergistic partner pair? Likely Akiri, Line-Slinger and Silas Renn, Seeker Adept. Should you copy this deck and find that combination too powerful for your group (I have no idea how), use something else.
