Introduction to Myself

I dont like talking about myself much so I'll keep this section short. I started playing magic around M12. I started commander around Theros block and compeditive commander around Khans block. I've played and still play about 16 TCGs and like 23 OCGs.

Introduction to Azusa

Azusa lets you play 2 more lands per turn. This translates to a whole lot of mana. What does this mean for cEDH? Mana to cast your entire deck. This deck focuses on the elfball variant of Azusa. Most variations will be covered in the next section.

Variations of Azusa builds

There are 4 main builds that everyone focuses Azusa on.

Elfball:

Pros: Most efficient deck to produce infinite mana, fastest build, Allows a bit of a surprise factor

Cons: Holy crap boardwipes hurt (its literally kill or be killed), Topdeck mode is often employed

Stax:

Pros: Extra lands break parity pretty easily

Cons: Green lacks efficient draw power, by the time you assemble whatever win condition, your opponents will have already won due to playing around the stax

Lands/Landfall:

Pros: Azusa gets you many lands

Cons: Where's the draw power?, very slow

Eldrazi:

Pros: Threatening... when you finally get boardstate, also gives draw power

Cons: dies to bricking and counterspells, slow.

Gameplan

We want to assemble infinite mana quickly. How do we do this? Well we need 3 components

Component A: Mana dorks

examples: Elvish Archdruid, Karametra's Acolyte, Priest of Titania, Viridian Joiner

Component B: Untap outlet

examples: Umbral Mantle, Staff of Domination

Component C: Mana sink

examples: Genesis Wave, Yisan, the Wanderer Bard, Umbral Mantle, Temur Sabertooth

Securing the win

This comes loaded with tutors and win conditions to ensure that you should be able to find the main combo explained above. On top of that, you have plenty of answers whether it be destruction or transmutating (lignify). You should have enough of a draw engine such that you are not stuck top decking lands all the time.

inspiration for the deck (warning possible game spoiler)

In case you have been living under a rock and never played Undertale, Play it. The image above is Flowey the Flower, who is your first encounter in the game. All he wants to spread is LOVE through little "Friendliness Pellets". This mechanic and his motto of "Kill or be Killed" inspired me to make my first Azusa deck as a stax based storm deck that won through land destruction to lock the opponents out of the game. That same motto is what carried over to this deck's principle.
