RONA COMPETETIVE EDH

Why Rona?

My buddy and I were sufficiently disappointed when we happened to pull Rona, Disciple of Gix in our prize pack. Jokingly, he talked of creating an EDH deck around the card. Then, we both realized the potential. With an infinte mana combo and the ability to untap her, Rona, Disciple of Gix would become an unstoppable combo. At that moment, we knew we needed to create the deck.

So, although we had a high budget on this deck, we did still have a budget, so here is it as it stands, abeit with possible, known upgrades.

1. Step one: Setting up the combo

So, the most beautiful part about the infinte combos in this deck, is that not all infinite mana combos need to be explicitly mana related. With that, here are some combos to set up before you can go off, but with so many possiblities, plus the ablity to tutor, you should be able to set one up. Grand Architect + Pili-Pala Gauntlet of Power + Palinchron Caged Sun + Peregrine Drake Thopter Assembly + Time Sieve Dramatic Reversal + Isochron Scepter Ashnod's Atlar + Nim Deathmantle + Wurmcoil Engine Ashnod's Altar + Cystalline Crawler

2. Step two: Getting to go off

The piece you need to go off is Paradox Engine. To get there we have Blue Sun's Zenith Stroke of Genius Diabolic Tutor Diabolic Intent Demonic Tutor Mangara's Tome

3. Step Three: Going off

Now, you can cast your entire library so long as you don't draw into a land as your ability with your commander, however, by using draw cards, you should be able to draw into a game ender. Triskellion + Mikaeus, the Unhallowed Mikaeus, the Unhallowed + Walking Ballista Aetherflux Reservoir Laboratory Maniac

4. Optional: The Ronalock

This is a synergy I cannot say that I came up with, but it works quite well. If you have your commander, plus Mindlock Orb and Maralen of the Mornsong, you can shutdown your opponents, while being the only person able to play things. This works with or without infinite mana
