Oloro, Ageless Ascetic gains you life, draws you cards, and drains your opponents. The deck works fine without him, but he is the engine that really picks up the pace. Cast him early and get as much value from him as you can.

The deck itself is spirit tribal, with a lifegain subtheme to complement Oloro. Spirits are a great tribe with lots of built-in tempo, evasion, and control. And M19 added a few great additions to the tribe in Departed Deckhand , Supreme Phantom , and Remorseful Cleric .
